Hi Developers, I am glad to announce Git for InterSystems IRIS, my first submission to OpenExchange and part of the current Developer Tools Contest.

Git for InterSystems IRIS is a source control package that aims to facilitate a native integration of the Git workflow with the InterSystems IRIS platform. It is designed to work as a transparent link between InterSystems IRIS and a Git-enabled code directory that, once setup, requires no user interaction. A detailed description can be found on GitHub.

I am looking forward to learn what you think about this approach. Does it make sense?

Introduction

The healthcare industry is continuously evolving, and the need for efficient document management and patient data management is more critical than ever. In this article, we will focus on the specific aspects of integrating Google Docs and Google Sheets with FHIR data in the context of healthcare data interoperability.

Problem

In a fast-paced clinical environment, where quick decision-making is crucial, the lack of streamlined document storage and access systems poses several obstacles. While storage solutions for documents exist (e.g, FHIR), accessing and effectively searching for specific patient data within those documents meaningfully can be a significant challenge.

Motivation

AI has made document search remarkably powerful. Question and answering over docs has never been easier with open-source tools like Chroma and Langchain to store and use vector embeddings to query across Generative AI APIs.

Introduction

A password manager is an important security tool that allows users to store and manage their passwords without the need to remember or write them down in insecure places. In this article, we will explore the development of a simple password manager using the Flask framework and the InterSystems IRIS database.

Key Features

Our password manager application will provide the following key features:

1. User registration with account creation.
2. User authentication during login.
3. Adding new passwords with a title, login, and password.

If you utilize Quality Code Analyzer  in your open source application this will be shown on Open Exchange:

1. On the main OEx page you can filter all the apps which passed Object Script Quality test

2. On the public application page (example) you will see that in info box:

No Data - if the Quality check is not installed in your repo
Passed - if the code passed the test
Failed - if the test was failed. This won't be shown on public app page

The Telegram Adapter for InterSystems IRIS serves as a bridge between the popular Telegram messaging platform and InterSystems IRIS, facilitating seamless communication and data exchange. By leveraging the capabilities of the Telegram API, the adapter allows developers to build robust chatbots, automate tasks, and integrate Telegram with InterSystems IRIS applications.

The most common scenarios where the Telegram Adapter can be used include:

1. Real-Time System Notifications: Sending immediate notifications about specific events occurring in the system.

Technology Strategy

When I started this project I had set myself limits:
Though there is a wide range of almost ready-to-use modules in various languages
and though IRIS has excellent facilities and interfaces to make use of them
I decided to solve the challenge "totally internal" just with embedded Python, SQL, ObjectScript
Neither Java, nor Nodes, nor Angular, PEX, ... you name it.
The combination of embedded Python and SQL is preferred. ObjectScript is just my last chance.

I was especially impressed how easy reading an HTTPS page with Python

Is there a API specification for the ZPM / IPM package manager for anybody that would like to implement their own registry?

Programming and languages

Being a programmer nowadays is basically the geek version of being a polyglot. Of course, most of us here, in the InterSystems Community, “speak ObjectScript”. Howeever, I believe this wasn’t the first language for many people. For instance, I had never heard about it prior to getting the appropriate training at Innovatium.

In recent years, artificial intelligence technologies for text generation have developed significantly. For example, text generation models based on neural networks can produce texts that are almost indistinguishable from texts written by humans.
ChatGPT is one such service. It is a huge neural network trained on a large number of texts, which can generate texts on various topics and be matched to a given context. 

A new task for people is to develop ways to recognize texts written not only by people but also by artificial intelligence (AI).

In this article, I will introduce my application iris-mlm-explainer

This web application connects to InterSystems Cloud SQL to create, train, validate, and predict ML models, make Predictions and display a dashboard of all the trained models with an explanation of the workings of a fitted machine learning model. The dashboard provides interactive plots on model performance, feature importances, feature contributions to individual predictions, partial dependence plots, SHAP (interaction) values, visualization of individual decision trees, etc.

The Customer Churn Predictor application is a tool that demonstrates how to use IntegratedML to helps companies identify which customers are likely to leave in the near future and develop customer retention strategies.
