Query Response from MSSQL

I am having an intermittent issue that when I make a call to MSSQL from a BPL that the response does not come back in the amount of time required. Since the call from the BPL is synchronous I tried changing the timeout to 60 but it has not helped (see below). Is there anyway to guarantee that the call waits long enough for a response before continuing on?

Thanks

In today's challenge, you have to execute instructions that control how bots are handling microchips.

The input contain instructions that can be something like this :

Hello,

I hereby announce the creation of an IRC channel dedicated to Caché development:

* network: FreeNode (connect to server: irc.freenode.net)

* channel: ##cos (yes, two hashes).

Topic is anything related to Caché development in spite of the name (and the fact that of Caché development I only really know about COS anyway), so sorry in advance for the restrictive channel name :)

Waiting for you here! (my nick is idletask on freenode)

I need another set of eyes to look at the following. Instead of a Data Lookup table, I wanted to try to lookup a value against a Cache table that I had build. So I thought I could write a function to run a simple SQL query against the Cache Table and return me a %Boolean value back to my routing rule. However today I found that it was not working properly.

Can someone take a look at the following method and verify that I am doing this correct?

index = column name

value = HL7 field that I am passing into the method

Hi Community!

You're very welcome to watch a new video on InterSystems Developers YouTube, recorded in a new format called "Coding Talks":

This applies to embedded and dynamic SQL queries in Caché ObjectScript. If I attempt to terminate the process via Management Portal, nothing happens. Neither does Ctrl C nor closing the terminal window in which my program is running, nor setting a stop flag in a global which is read by the program on each loop iteration. The only way to stop the query appears to be restarting the Caché server (which is running locally on my PC).

Hi community,

I have some constants hardcoded in my class as parameter values, and those constants are referenced in many places in my module. Now the need has arisen to provide different value for those parameters depending on some context. Is it possible to create some sort of accessor method for the parameter (like it is possible for properties), or do I need to perform a thorough refactoring?

Thanks.

Jiri

Hello,

I'm using ZEN report to generate a PDF file out a table.

Although, I need to display data from two tables splitted into two different namespaces.

So, I created a process that fetches all the data I need and then calls the PDF class and generates the stream out of it.

My question is, once I've got my list of objects. How can I transform it into a ResultSet, in order to display in the report ?

Thanks for your answer.

Hello,

I am struggling to print out the actual property values of the Security.System class.

https://cedocs.intersystems.com/latest/csp/documatic/%25CSP.Documatic.cls

I was hoping to be able to print the Authentication Enabled properties of a system from the command line using the Get or GetProperties class method. Currently, however, I am only able to get a return 1 or Invalid Oref error.

In this challenge, you need to find a password using instructions to move on a keypad.
Instructions can be U(p), D(own), L(eft) and R(ight).

You start at button 5 on a keypad like

I am in the planning stages of making things more uniform in our routines and I would like to know what the easiest way would be to include an .inc at the beginning of each .mac routine. Has anyone written something that would open all routines and place something into the first row while leaving the rest of the routine unchanged? Thanks for any guidance you all may provide.

Today in docs I found this example using NULL:

 WRITE $LISTVALID($LB(NULL)),!

simplified

zzdump $LB(NULL)

and NULL can be case-insensitive:

zzdump $LB(null)

seems the same as just:

zzdump $LB()

But if null variable is defined then list would contain value from variable. Case sensitive in that situation.

Does anyone have any Idea what is this? Is NULL used anywhere besides as a list element?

Searching Refactoring tool

Hello everybody,
we would like to be able to analyze a rather complex software application, which has been programmed in “M” for a number of years by different developers, by means of a tool.
Our goal is to find a starting point for a code refactoring process. In the long run we would like to gradually eliminate the code growth points.
Does anyone know of a tool that can help us to do this?
So far, we have only found "RE / m" etc. by George James Software, but we do not yet know if these tools will help.

Hi Community!

This week is a voting week for the InterSystems IRIS Native API Programming Contest! We have 8 applications — so you have a set of applications to choose from!

How to vote? This is easy: you will have one vote, and your vote goes either in Experts Nomination or in Community Nomination.

I am working on tweaking our current patient load process. The roster input is in text pipe delimited format, parsed out and transforms it to a standard HS.Message.PatientSearchRequest, and send to business process for patient matching. Result is transformed into a standard ADT HL7 message using EnsLib.HL.Message class. I would like to know if there is another class I can use that will transform my output to a text flat file pipe delimited instead of HL7 format? any advice on how to do this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi folks!

We have a bunch of templates on OEX that provide a handy foundation for building a particular application with IRIS. And the basic principle of each and every template is that we take vanilla IRIS images, load code, and files into the image using Dockerfile, and create a new docker image as a solution. And then we develop running this image and rebuilding it when returning to development.

Some developers ask me why we need to build the docker image to work with the code. Indeed, if at the end of the day I need to develop a ZPM package and not a docker image why don't run the vanilla image and load the code and everything in it?

The problem I have with the building image approach is that often I can wait a lot to build an image and it fails on some Objectscript problem in the source that I cannot fix as the image is not building. and

Any thoughts? How do you develop with docker?
