Sometimes we need to import CSV data programmatically to InterSystems IRIS either from CSV or from URL. And we expect the class with proper datatypes to be created and the data to be imported.

I published a module csvgen on Open Exchange which does exactly that.

If you just need the CSV file be imported into IRIS you can do the following:

USER>do ##class(community.csvgen).Generate("/usr/data/titanic.csv",,"Data.Titanic")

Class name: Data.Titanic

Mixing Object syntax with SQL is one of the nice features in Object Script. But in one case, it gave strange results, so I decided to isolate the case and describe it here.

iris-fhir-client can connect to any open FHIR Server by using embedded python with the help of fhirpy Library.
Get Resource information by terminal and by using CSP web application.

This package offers a utility to export an XLarge Global into a JSON object file and to show
or import it again. In a previous example, this all was processed in memory. But if this is a
large Global you may either experience <MAXSTRING> or an <STORE> error
if the generated JSON structure exceeds available memory.

This is a benchmark built in python and objectscript in InterSystems IRIS.

The objective is to compare the speed for sending back and forth a thousand request/message from a BP to a BO in python and in objectscript.

Recently I found several one-line long ObjectScript commands on DC and think that it'd be great not to lose it and to collect more!

So I decided to gather a few first cases, put in one OEX project, and share them with you!

And here is how you can use them.

This example demonstrates the difference you may experience when you write to
Gllobals directly from Embedded Python compared to native ObjectScript.

To make this demo useful I start 2 background jobs that simply write sequentially
to a dedicated global. A common control method signals for a synchronous start.
Similar a common stop & view interrupts data feeding.

That's the principle process:
