InterSystems ObjectScript is a scripting language to operate with data using any data model of InterSystems Data Platform (Objects, Relational, Key-Value, Document, Globals) and to develop business logic for serverside applications on InterSystems Data Platform.
I was struggling with a procedure that was meant to receive a string and use it as a filter, I've found that since I want the procedure to do some data transformation and return a dataset, I needed to use objectScript language.

This time, I made a tool based on the idea described in an article I published earlier as a template for quick query of messages. Currently, you only need to establish entity classes in IRIS, Then record the message corresponding to the entity class in the specified lookup table, and all the key fields generated in the message can be inverted indexed (the concept in ElasticSearch), which is convenient for quick query. Following the latest programming contest on OEX I had some surprising observation. There were almost exclusive applications based on AI in combination with pre-cooked Py modules. But digging deeper, all examples used the same technical pieces of IRIS.
Seen from point of view of IRIS it was pretty much the same whether searching for text or searching for images or other pattern. It ended in almost exchangeable methods.
As noted in the previous article Native API has some limits. So I did some research on a more Terminal-like interface that provides me with access like a console or the IRIS terminal to allow my $QUERY over a global and other nice commands that are not supported/mapped in NativeAPI for ObjectScript.

We are looking at what we need to do to migrate from our current usage of Zen reports to InterSystems Reports. One of the hurdles for us is figuring out ways to interact with InterSystems reports programmatically from ObjectScript routines. There is a Java API for it, but it is possible to generate a report from InterSystems reports to a stream object in ObjectScript without diving into Java by using a %Net.HttpRequest. To make this demo useful I start 2 background jobs that simply write sequentially to a dedicated global. A common control method signals for a synchronous start. Similar a common stop & view interrupts data feeding.
