IRISReference in Native Api

I am trying to use IRIS Native API in .NET code I see following code snippet here https://docs.intersystems.com/irislatest/csp/docbook/DocBook.UI.Page.cls...

  IRISReference valueRef = new IRISReference(""); // set inital value to null string
  iris.ClassMethodString("%SomeClass","SomeMethod",valueRef);
  String myString = valueRef.value;               // get the method result

But IRISReference is not available as a type.

We are using Native .NET API from IRISProviderCore21 package, inside .NET Core app, and having issue when trying to call function that takes instance of the class as parameter. The server is IRIS 2020.1.0.217.1

In a nutshell, the code looks like this:

// Create instance of the parameter class, proxy object

var paramObject = iris.ClassMethodObject("MyParameterClass", "%New") as IRISObject;

paramObject.Set("property", "value");

Does anybody know if there is an easy way to know if the execution of the command $System.SQL.PurgeForTable went well/wrong?

The documentation describes that a string is returned, but in fact there is a nice Quit "" in the code.

Maybe inside PurgeForTable^%apiSQL there is any process variable set when it goes well/wrong?

Hey everyone.

I have a process where I create a new %Stream.FileCharacter object, specify the filename (including it's path), write data to the stream, and then save. However for some reason, if the user account does not have write access to the directory, the %Save method is still returning true even though it was unable to actually write the file to the folder.

The location is a UNC path, and I'm wondering if this is tripping me up?

Hello,

I have a question about a problem calling a SOAP Web Service.

Indeed, to retrieve data via a Web Service, I need to make 4 calls, one to connect, one to place parameters, one to retrieve data and one to disconnect. Using the EnsLib.SOAP.OutboundAdapter class, I manage to make my first connection call but for the other calls I would need to keep my session cookie otherwise it doesn't consider me as connected. I know it's possible to do this in REST directly in the EnsLib.REST.OutboundAdapter class but I can't find a way to do it in SOAP.

Hello community,

I am in the process of building a Health Care Application named MediCloud and I was so excited to see that IRIS is one of a great choice that I can make for a database system.

But, I am developing my system with ASP.NET Core Version 2.1. I did see that there is a way we could use .NET with IRIS using PEX (such a useful tip), is there a possibility I could do it ASP.NET Core as well.

Or is it just limited to .Net for the time being?

Hello everyone,

I have a question, I am trying to use xecute command, but something wrong happen when i was using the command, and i don't know why hahahaha.

I created a file .mac with this code:

       xecute call
       quit
}

But when i run the command, show me this message error:

After that i changed the code to:

when i connect to DB via DBeaver , it always report Connection refused, i tried both Cache and IRIS but same error, I have already download intersystems-jdbc-3.2.0.jar as IRIS Driver.

And meanwhile SqlDBx tool is able to connect via internal Intersystems Cache Driver.

I successfully installed IRIS Community edition on my new RYZEN7 desktop. However when I try to start IRIS I get an error event that states IRIS cannot start due to too many cores. (I have 15 on this CPU).

So how do I resolve this? I do have to install the image onto a single core? Or how many cores can this version run on?

Any comments/suggestions or hysterical laughter will be very much appreciated.

I am trying to pull the code tables Information and this code table has linked code table not exactly obviously joined by SQL tables or columns. This is confusing me. Please can you clarify how to link these two tables.

I will be generic to ensure, any privacy is protected

CT_Hospital has CT_Staff linked in.

When CT_Hospital has data, for that relevant hospital code, CT_Staff can be clicked and data entered.

When I see in the Components - > Items I do not see any SQL table or SQL column common between CT_Hospital and CT_Staff.

Hello,

I'm experiencing a recurrent problem that I haven't found the way to solve, so I'm coming here with the hope somebody can give me a new approach.

To make it short: we are creating categories on-demand to be able to place the maximum numbers of workers in memory, avoiding the limits established by system categories. But from time to time, one of this creation fails and system is no able to start the queue. The error we are getting is:

I running a query and get the results inside a result set. Now I have to iterate through the result set many times. From the doc I've seen only the Next() method. Is there a way to reset the cursor? Otherwise what is a good data structure to save multiple rows of a table?

My code in this case is something like this:

I'm trying to write a method that runs an OS command with $zf(-100,"/ASYNC") and then waits for it to finish before returning, but I can't figure out how to check if the child process (in $zchild) is still running. $System.Process.State($zchild) always returns "RUN" even once the child process is gone. Is there some better way to check this, short of running another OS-specific command and processing the output (which is just really annoying and unelegant)?

Measuring Global References ````

I had a customer the other day ask how GREFs are measured and how the relationship of the host, storage, and DB engine all influence that number measured in hundreds of thousands or millions. Is there any good documentation that explains this and/or assists with calculating a GREF count?
