InterSystems Business Intelligence enables you to embed business intelligence (BI) into your applications so that your users can ask and answer sophisticated questions of their data. Specifically, your application can include dashboards, which can include the following:

  • Interactive widgets that execute queries designed for specific user roles or for specific areas of your user interface.
  • Controls such as drop-down lists and data choosers that enable users to modify these queries.
  • Interactive drill options that enable users to view the displayed data in different ways.
  • Options to export, print, and send alerts to other users.
  • An option to launch the Mini Analyzer, which supports free-form analysis.
  • Execute custom actions that are provided as buttons or other controls.

In contrast to traditional BI systems that use static data warehouses, Business Intelligence is kept closely in synchronization with the live transactional data, as required for your business.

The DeepSee TroubleShooting Guide helps you track down and fix problems occurring in your DeepSee project. A common problem is finding less records than expected in a DeepSee Cube or a related Subject Area. The DeepSee TroubleShooting Guide suggests starting your investigation by checking the following:

Check cube for build restrictions

Check if maxFacts is used

Check if Build Errors are occurring

Question Ryan Miller · Nov 7, 2016

I tried using the DeepSee Troubleshooting guide but the suggestions weren't working.  Let's say that the source data we are using to build the cube on has a value out of range. This would cause the cube build/update to fail. How do I see the error log that explains which field has the value out of range? Please be detailed on exactly what command I should enter and where I should enter it in.

Whether you are accessing DeepSee for the first time ever or you are configuring DeepSee on a new instance, there are two common issues that are encountered after clicking on the “DeepSee” option in the System Management Portal.

Issue #1: Architect/Analyzer is grayed out!

Issue #2: DeepSee must be enabled before use.

Issue #1: Architect/Analyzer is grayed out!

There are two common causes for this problem.

Cause 1 - License

Cause 2 - Security

Hi-

I was wondering if there was a DeepSee overview document available for a non-technical user.  Something short and concise describing what DeepSee is and its key features.

I've looked at the documentation and although there are parts of what I am looking for there it is much too technical for my needs.

Thanks

Hi - If you want to embed Ensemble's Workflow Inbox, (that offers workflow task items to workflow users) inside of your application - you can access the URL directly without necessarily giving users access to the Management Portal - but more importantly, you can strip away the Titlebar, Worklists and Borders that make up the page by default.

You do this by using the same URL parameters you would use, if embedding a regular DeepSee dashboard into your application.

For example, adding &EMBED=1 at the end of the URL as depicted below:

I need to create a KPI similar to the  DeepSee.Model.KPIs.DemoTrendLines kpi in Samples.  This kpi supports a scorecard widget with a trend line.  It shows patient counts by city with a trend line of the count of patients over a decade.  What I want is to show the trend line based on the average allergy score ([Measures].[Avg Test Score]).  A pivot table query that shows the data I would want to base the trend line on is:

SELECT NON EMPTY [BirthD].[H1].[Decade].Members ON 0,
NON EMPTY [HomeD].[H1].[City].Members ON 1
FROM [Patients] %FILTER [Measures].[Avg Test Score]

Has anyone done this?

Hi!

Sometimes you see that call to DeepSee cube building method:

w ##class(%DeepSee.Utils).%BuildCube("CubeName")

does nothing.

Here are my 2 cents on possible reasons.

1. Run DeepSee Reset method in certain Namespace:

NAMESPACE> w ##class(%DeepSee.Utils).%Reset()

and try again.

2. Make sure, that all the indices in your base class for the cube are rebuilt, rebuild them and run it again:

w ##class(%DeepSee.Utils).%BuildCube("CubeName")

Hope this will save some time for you, and will be helpful as was to me.

I know per documentation (pasted below) to set the DSTIME parameters for the base class of a cube.  If that base class has a property that is another class, do I have to add the DSTIME parameters to that secondary class?

Documentation says the following in a section titled "Enabling Cube Synchronization:"

Before you can synchronize a cube, you must enable the cube synchronization feature for that cube. To do so:

1.   Make sure that cube synchronization is possible in your scenario. See “When Cube Synchronization Is Possible,” earlier in this chapter.

Hi, Community!

You know, that when we build hierarchies in DeepSee dimension all the members of lower level should be the part of one member of the higher level.

If not you'll get some empty results in MDX queries with this hierarchy.

With Time dimensions the obvious valid hierarchy is Year->Month->Day, cause every Month consists of one Year and every day consists of one month.

I  have a DeepSee KPI defined based on %DeepSee.KPI following the documentation http://docs.intersystems.com/latest/csp/docbook/DocBook.UI.Page.cls?KEY….  I've then enabled the KPI on a dashboard by adding a Widget where the data source is the KPI.  Currently the ability to show a Detail Listing is implemented by the call back %OnGetListingSQL.  This method documents the parameter

pListingName is the name of the listing to display. This is reserved for future use.

I'm trying to calculate the percentage of the top level with the SUM function.
But I don't understand the PARENT behavior.
It does not work in any way!

SUM({FilialD.H1.Categoria.CURRENTMEMBER.PARENT.ALLMEMBERS},MEASURES.[Valor])

SUM({FilialD.H1.Categoria.CURRENTMEMBER.PARENT.%ALL},MEASURES.[Valor])

Someone could explain me the difference between %ALL and ALLMEMBERS?

Today my customer ask me a question about how to write the MDX with a summary row however this row with different aggregate functions for each column.

We know in DeepSee analyzer has pivot table option "Summary",  user can select sum, avg ... aggregate functions to get the summary row/column. However we can not specify different aggregate function for each measure column.

Here show the example to use All level and IIF function achieve that. see the example (Holefood cube in Sample namespace) below

I have written MDX Query in Kpi.

I tried with %Label with their arguments for cell style. It doesn't work for me.

Please give me some suggestions.

I am trying to calculate a dimension percentage for WFRole on a child cube named MbMRouteHistoryInitiatorObj joined to a parent cube named MbmQaSObj by using a calculated member dimension within MbmQaSObj.

If I use the calculated member dimension value expression of [WFRole].[H1].[WFRole].CurrentMember/ [WFRole].[All WFRole].%ALL in the child cube MbMRouteHistoryInitiatorObj, the percentages work correctly.

Question Randy Stewart · Jun 13, 2016

I need to pass multiple values to a FILTER to a DeepSee DASHBOARD via the URL. The documentation seems to indicate this can be done, i.e.: "Where each filterspec is filter_name.filter_values" but there are no examples I can find that indicates what is used to separate multiple values. Say I want to pass the three values 5, 6, and 1395 to a filter. To pass just the 5 I know this works:

&SETTINGS=FILTER:LEAD.MYUSERID.H1.MYUSERID.5

but how do I include 6 and 1395. None of the following seem to work:

&SETTINGS=FILTER:LEAD.MYUSERID.H1.MYUSERID.5.6.1395

Question Blaise ZARKA · Jun 8, 2016

In DeepSee, having a customer account cube. The cube includes a time dimension AccountCreationDate.

How do you create a calculated measure to get the total number of accounts from the beginning to a certain date in abscissa ?

I tried many things including this:
AGGREGATE(%TIMERANGE([AccountCreationDate].[H1].[MonthYear].&[190001],[AccountCreationDate].[H1].[MonthYear].CURRENTMEMBER) ,[Measures].[%Count])

But I don't get the right result because the date in abscissa creates a filter on the first date.

I tried also with %MDX function, but then I loose the context for the CURRENTMEMBER.
