Hi,

Can anyone point me to an example of a DTL & Class method that can pull a base64 encoded PDF out of a MDMT02 message?

This is really asking for two things;

- how to make a DTL that extracts a specific subfield of an HL7 2.3 message into a message of its own,

and

- how to transform an base64 encoded document into its original binary form for writing to a file.

I'd also love to see an example of an HL7 2.n MDM^T02 ==> HL73.ITK2 non-coded CDA

1) What's the correct way to check for an existence of a segment? So far I have been doing this by checking to see if a required field is non-null, and this seems to work but is a bit clumsy. In this case, it’s an X12 message being checked in an IF action in BPL:

request.GetValueAt("NTE(1):Description")'=""

Or in a DTL, to see if a Z segment exists:

source.{ZEF:Counter}=1

I am receiving a FHIR bundle and I need to extract data from it and wondered if there was an easier way of doing this rather than looping through the data as suggested in Working with FHIR Data | FHIR Support in InterSystems Products | InterSystems IRIS for Health 2023.2.

I have a case where I need to look up the NPI provider against an External MS SQL database to retrieve our Provider Identifier to send to a downstream system. In the past I would use a Business Process (BPL) to connect to the outside MS SQL via JDBC and get that information for me. But I was thinking instead of creating a BPL process to do this, would it be better just to link to the outside MS SQL database table to retrieve the information in a SQL statement within a DTL?

Can someone share some details for creating a pipeline for converting CCDA (XML) document into Flatfile or CSV File using IRIS.

Hello, In the DTL, is there a way to set a value for the HL7 data element in the code section? For example, set target.SetValueAt("PID:3(k1).1)") = mrn (mrn is the value returned from the SQL query) When I ran the test utility, I got this error message. ERROR ErrException: zTransform+27^testclass.TEST.1 *SetValueAt,EnsLib.HL7.Message -- logged as '-' number - @' set target.SetValueAt("PID:3(k1).1)") = mrn' I tried both target.SetValueAt("PID:3(k1).1)") and target.GetValueAt("PID:3(k1).1)"). That didn’t make a difference. The code still error out.

Hi Everyone,

We are trying to migrate old server to new infrastructure and need to sync all the DTL cls from old one to new one. There are hundreds of DTL in system and we tried to export from production but cannot select all at once which might cause some missing classes. Not able to connect to studio or atelier with that server neither. Is there any way that we are able to do mass export from system which will save some effort? Please let me know your thoughts. Does anyone have a sample that demonstrates how to use the Data Transformation option create='existing', in order to update an existing object by its ID? My use-case is that I have an HL7 message coming in which contains data on a patient that may or may not already exist in a (non-HL7) table. I want to use the PatientID from the (source) HL7 message, check if that patient exists in the (target) object, and if so, insert some new data into the existing patient, or if not, create a new patient.

Our PAS system supplies date in a particular date format (ISO 8601 compliant) that includes seconds and milliseconds. Because many downstream systems cannot handle milliseconds (and some don't even want seconds) many transformations are required to truncate the data.

Using Interoperability, I can't figure out how to create separate XML's files from a CSV-file using the GUI-features Record Maps/Complex Record Mapper -> Data Transformations. I'm familiar with reading/writing the files using File Service/Operation, but don't understand the processing-steps.
The preferred method by my colleagues is to do this without any Objectscript or Embedded Python coding, but if this can only be done by some coding that's fine as well.

Is there an out-of-the-box or accepted standard method for loading up mappings between different code sets and then referencing these mappings (both directions) from DTL? First thought was the built in Lookup() and corresponding data tables but these only work in one direction (key -> value) and not the reverse. Obviously I can build my own classes to support a two way mapping but am wondering if there's a standard way of achieving this. The mapping should contain the code and display name from each of the code sets and allow mapping based on either code or display name.

I've heard from two different sources the SMP (or parts of it) and for sure the DTL front end (in studio? via SMP?) have been rewritten to be more modern. But on a latest IRIS Community download everything looks the same to me. Am I missing something or is this Marketting Spin?

Is there a way to insert new Key/Value in an existing lookup Table via a DTL code? The only thing I found in the documentation is that we could use the following command SELECT KeyName,DataValue FROM Ens_Util.LookupTable WHERE TableName = 'myTab'. In the meantime I just created a table and used it in my DTL to insert new values and validate if the Key exist.
