A business service is part of InterSystems Ensemble interoperability production which is responsible for accepting requests from external applications.

Question Paul Riker · Apr 18, 2017

I have a client sending us data MLLP in base64 format. I'm using the EnsLib.HL7.Adapter.TCPInboundAdapter adapter. What setting do I change to accept the base64?

I have built an Ensemble SOAP service (EnsLib.SoapService.Service) as a business service which accepts soap requests from another application. To secure the traffic between the SOAP service and the application i'd like to enable SSL. I see that in the management portal I can upload the certificates, chains and keys and save them as an SSL / TLS configuration. However, it is not clear to me how I apply this SSL / TLS configurtion to the soap service I am running.

One of our Departments are claiming that we are loosing HL7 messages that are sent from their Vendor's system to Ensemble.

I know interfaces 101 if we have no record of the message then we never received it, however they are insisting they are sending it.

I asked them to provide the ACK's if they sent the messages but Ensemble had no corresponding Message Control ID (MSH.10) .

Currently I have the following settings.

Question Ravi Akkiraju · Mar 16, 2017

noob here..(moving from JCAPS to Ensemble)

We are wondering where is the best place to tie the schema category for an incoming HL7 message? Should we do this within the service (via the message schema category setting) or receive everything and validate in the process (DTL) level?

We want to capture everything that will be sent to that HL7 listener service and then decide what to do with bad messages at the process layer.

Does anyone have any recommendation regarding this? Appreciate your input and decision thought process.

Thank You,

I am configuring a SOAP HL7 Receiver to handle HL7 Query messages.

I have set up a new class based on EnsLib.SOAP.Service and configured (correctly I hope) the parameters needed.  I have also amended the OnProcessInput Method skeleton provide to send messages on to the Business Process needed.

I am struggling to work out what is needed in the Web Methods and how to create them.

Any help with this would be much appreciated especially examples that I can adapt for what I need.

Many thanks

Hi All,
I need to route a file based on its type in Ensemble Production. But I don't want to write a Business Process code to achieve this. Am using FilePassThroughService to get a file.
There are two FilePassthrough operations for different type of files. Is there anyway to achieve this using Business Process Rule itself?
Also how to get the filename in Business Process Rule that comes from FilePassThroughService?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

I've created a WebApi and I've deployed in our development environment. So we test calling http://localhost:57772/Client/login and it works.

Now, I wondering how to change the port to call in pre production environment.

I've changed the port in the business service object, but it is ignored.

Other workaround is change the WebServerPort in System > Configuration > Startup Setting but it changes for all environment (connect to managment portal, etc..)

Is there any way to change the port of the WebApi to redirect to 80 (for example) u other one?

Best regards,

Francisco

Hi all,

We're in the process of creating several courses for creating custom business components for productions. This includes custom business operations, BPL processes, and custom business services. Custom Business Operations and Custom Business Services are both aimed at software developers while BPL processes can be also be created by business analysts. What are some gotchas or best practices you've learned that you wish you knew when first building these components?

We'd love to include what you've learned into these courses so others can learn from them as well!

Thanks!

Question Duncan Priest · Sep 13, 2016

Hi all

I was just in the process of implementing a custom SOAP web service to receive a message with an embedded base64 encoded HL7 message when I noticed the above-mentioned OOTB service. I've been unable to find any documentation describing its use but it appears to expose a single operation named Send which takes a single parameter (a %Stream.GlobalCharacter) named Input. Does anyone know if this service is indeed useful and if so quite how the HL7 should be passed in?

I'm doing some Schema changes.  I used our existing standard schema as a base, which was already based on 2.3.  So let's call our existing one Custom.MHC.Schema (based on 2.3).  I created Custom.MHC.Schema.Advanced (based on Custom.MHC.Schema) and copied down one of the code tables then made a change to it.

When I ran a message through, the code table change didn't show up.  I noticed in the message viewer that the DocType is still Custom.MHC.Schema:ADT_A01 but the DocType Category is Custom.MHC.Schema.Advanced.

Question Angelo Bruno Braga · Jul 22, 2016

Hi all,

I already enabled the IIS configuration for using HTTPS to all requests (using * wildcard) and all my CLS, CSP and ZEN pages are working nice through HTTPS.

My REST Business Service parameters and Method definition:

Class ocx.bs.rest.Service Extends EnsLib.REST.Service
{
Parameter ADAPTER = "EnsLib.HTTP.InboundAdapter";
Parameter EnsServicePrefix = "/CUSTOMERS";

Method OnProcessInput(pInput As %Stream.Object, Output pOutput As %Stream.Object) As %Status

Thanks a lot,

 Angelo Braga

Question Marc Mundt · Jul 15, 2016

I was asked about using date-based criteria in the file spec for an inbound file adapter.
It looks like the file spec field only accepts simple wildcards (*, ?), so I'm wondering if someone knows of a clever way of doing this preferably without creating a custom adapter/service class.
An example of the use case:
An upstream system continually writes records to a file named with the current day's date. At midnight it opens a new file with the new day's date:

2016-07-14.dat
2016-07-15.dat
Shortly after midnight on July 15 we want Ensemble to pick up 2016-07-14.

Question Nancy Martínez · Jun 6, 2016

Hello,

Why I don't see the full content of a XML file inside a Ens.StreamContainer Message?

When  I look into the content I only see:

<?xml version="1.0" ?><!-- type: Ens.StreamContainer  id: 5 -->
<StreamContainer><OriginalFilename>C:\Temp\In\aa.xml</OriginalFilename><Stream></Stream><Type>FC</Type></StreamContainer>

How I can see all the content? There is any setting to modify this behavior?

I am using a EnsLib.File.PassthroughService,

Regards

Question Ryan Hulslander · Jun 3, 2016

Problem:

A file-based business service uses a local path on a Linux machine that is actually a mounted CIFS share. The mount is "soft" and is designed to not cache data, etc. There are times however when the remote system offering up the share (it's a Windows machine I believe) gets bounced or otherwise hung up the business service in the Ensemble production just hangs.

Un-mounting the network share doesn't affect it, no process kill command affects it, and even going so far as to "kill -9" the process outside of Cache does nothing, either.

Question Paul Reesman · May 18, 2016

I am just trying to make a quick hand off HTTP production. I have the class built and compiled onto the server and the production is running as a service. When the production is called (by an inbound job) I can see that the HTTP.InboundAdapter is being used successfully and the stack continues all the up to ProcessInput where OnProcessInput is called in Ens.BusinessService. Instead of using the class that I wrote which has both extended Ens.BusinessService and implemented my own overriden OnProcessInput method, it calls the OnProcessInput within the Ens.

I'm trying to find a good way to control the Filename for X12 Acknowledgement files, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that without custom coding.  Here's what I figured out so far:

EnsLib.EDI.X12.Service.FileService allows you to set a Reply Target Config, which would likely be an X12 File Operation.  The Service doesn’t have any settings related to the name of the Acknowledgement file though.  That’s determined entirely by the Operation.

The Operation allows the outbound filename to be derived from the X12 Document’s Source property, by including %f in the File Name spec.

Question Steve Pisani · Dec 15, 2015

Hi,

In an Ensemble message bus that has a Business Service which extends EnsLib.SOAP.Service, I have the option to support SOAP Sessions by setting the parameter SOAPSESSION=1.

The comments says this also effects license consumption.

In what way  is license consumption effected ?

note this is version 2015.1, Ensemble Elite (without Web-AddOn).

thanks -

Steve
