Due to a new project I'm getting involved inside %Installer stuff deeper than ever I'd be happy to. Most of it was pretty easy to get, thanks to documentation, articles and SAMPLES example, while I can't dig good solution for one problem.
I am still working on a generic task where I need to apply journal file records to another database. Initially I didn't want to use Journal.Restore class methods as I need to perform some data transformation, and it seemed that the clearest way to achieve it was to read journal file record by record using %SYS.Journal.Record API.

We have been using DeepSee which has been the integrated Analytic Dashboard built over Cache Cubes. It works fine but it's visual capabilities are limited and most probably is getting phased out.
If I am not wrong, Tableau is the suggested alternative to DeepSee . It is expensive and a big and considerable shift from existing technology
I wanted to get an opinion of the community as to these few key points
- What other BI tools others have been using with IRIS and what have been their experience
- For which tools are the best inbuilt support / api's avaialble in IRIS
Just like the title says, I'm attempting to find a way to create a web application that instead of serving CSP files, it uses a dispatch class. I searched for clues in the documentation, but the CSPApplication tag seems to be exclusively for CSP file-based applications.
I'm trying to avoid implementing a workaround such as using the Invoke tag to call the Security.Applications to generate the web application but I might be forced to do so, even though it's unpleasant if I had to say...

Hello Cache Developers: I was curious if anyone has ever created a TWAIN interface to their Cache Application? I am new to TWAIN and hence the reason for this question. From what I understand, TWAIN is software used by various digital imaging software and TWAIN provides an API for applications to call to be able to import images into their application. I'm experimenting with sending large amounts of data in a POST payload to be stored as a stream. However I've noticed that no matter how many characters are in the message, Cache only gets about 32k of them, cutting off the rest. Conversely as expected it can only send about 32k worth of characters in a payload.
Before I get creative, is there a REST message size limit that can be changed? Or is there something else going on here?
Recently our team have been getting requests to pickup a large amount of data from API nightly (e.g. using ODATA to loop through pages) and placing that into MS SQL databases.
My question is, what is considered the best practice to get data from API and route to external SQL database WITHOUT persisting any messages/traces etc?
I have a couple of questions regarding /api/monitor and configuring it to use with SAM. In our environment we only expose port 443, so even though I define the Web Application to use unauthenticated, SAM is unable to make a connection. Is there any alternatives to get this working?
Also, even if there is a way to configure using port 443, unauthenticated access will never fly in our environment. Are there any plans to enhance SAM so it you use OAuth or even mutual TLS?

I'm trying to do some experiments using the Atelier REST API, but I noticed a bug that I simply can't bypass.
When requesting the Atelier server asking for an array of docs, it seems to fail when using it with multiple formats. Like: [ "RCWWW015.int", "Class.cls" ]

As you know, it is very complicated to debug a Business Service Rest API because the object is created when the applications receive a request, so we cannot have the JobId that we can use to debug.
I have a problem. Occasionally, I am getting locked out of IRIS because of password failures. However, the failures aren't necessarily related to my password. We are using VSCode, and I have installed one or two proposed APIs for use with the software (because that's just how I am; I want to learn the new stuff).
Today, I had that problem again. The step that caused the problem was most likely when I was trying to switch the branch I was using and updating within VSCode. Let's say I was switching from branch "1A" to branch "2B". When I did this, IRIS caught two password errors:

I've run into an issue where job IDs are being retained through multiple calls. My team is doing a rewrite of our system that allows VB6 apps and web apps to directly interact with our Cache databases.
The new process has those applications calling into a WebAPI which then calls into the routines.
I’m looking for a way to find out which category of portal a connector belongs to. I looked at the class ‘Ens.Config.Production’ and ‘Ens.Config.Item’ but without success.
