Who hasn't been developing a beautiful example using a Docker IRIS image and had the image generation process fail in the Dockerfile because the license under which the image was created doesn't contain certain privileges?

In my case, what I was deploying in Docker is a small application that uses the Vector data type. With the Community version, this isn't a problem because it already includes Vector Search and vector storage. However, when I changed the IRIS image to a conventional IRIS (the latest-cd), I found that when I built the image, including the classes it had generated, it returned this error:

Hi,

I tried to create what is know as a "class variable". As far as I understand the only analogy to class variables would be the "class parameters".

I tried to use a class parameter but I cannot change its value at runtime.

Parameter STATUSES = {{}};

Property repr As %String;

Method %OnNew(repr) As %Status
{
w ##class(Test...).#STATUSES
w ..#STATUSES

...

}

We have an ObjectScript application that runs in Cache' and IRIS. Our typical installation involves a .zip file containing several files necessary for the installation and operation of the application. Steps are: expand the .zip file to a folder that will not be used by the application. Do ^%RI for the installation routines in the production namespace. Do the Installation routine. We have a customer that is trying to do a silent installation. He does not want to have to respond to any prompts on the installation.

Message Count

Looking for a SQL query or any other method to find the Unique/distinct message counts for all productions or at least per production namespace within a given time frame. For e.g TimeCreated = January 2025 (Whole month)

I have used the following, but its not restricting the numbers based on the TimeCreated filter. Every time a new message is processed by system, its added to the total. I am running the query in today's date

Select Sum(MsgCount)

From

(Select DISTINCT TargetConfigName, count(DISTINCT SessionID) as MsgCount

FROM ENS.MessageHeader

Hi,

I'm making a request to an API that works perfectly with Postman, you can see it here:

The URL is https://testcds.esriguide.org/v2/session/3189981 where the last part is the ID's session I want to get back.

When I try to make the same request in IRIS I always get a "Bad request" error.

I'm creating the request which all the information needed (or at least that I know):

Hi all,

Some days ago, I've seen a youtuber talking about how to create a neural network (sorry, is in spanish)

One of the challenges of creating a DICOM message is how to implement putting data in the correct place. Part of it is by inserting the data in the specific DICOM tags, while the other is to insert binary data such as a picture - In this article I will explain both.

To create a DICOM message, you can either use the EnsLib.DICOM.File class (to create a DICOM file) or the EnsLib.DICOM.Document class (to create a message that can be sent to PACS directly). In either case, the SetValueAt method will allow you to add your data to the DICOM tags.

How to get server/instance info

Hi all,

As part of the development an API to know what is the instance of IRIS is connected, I've found some methods to know information about the server that can help you.

Get the server name: $SYSTEM.INetInfo.LocalHostName()

Get the server IP: $SYSTEM.INetInfo.HostNameToAddr($SYSTEM.INetInfo.LocalHostName())

Get the instance name: $PIECE($SYSTEM,":",2)

Hey Community,

We’re excited to announce a new upgrade to Developer Community AI!

Now, in addition to Community posts and comments, Developer Community AI also pulls information from official InterSystems IRIS documentation to answer your questions. This new feature lets you customise your search sources so you get the most relevant answers tailored to your needs.

Just choose the sources and ask the question:

  • Community posts
  • InterSystems IRIS Documentation
  • or both!

SQL Query Help

Hello all,

I need help with coming up with a SQL query that pulls only one value. I have a case where two providers share the exact same name. Each has a different NPI number and IdentityTypeId. I tried the below query - output is also below.

Access to current line text

Is there a general way to set a variable XYZ equal to the text of the code line being executed now? Debugger or production. For example, for a code below if code is currently assigning a to 1, XYZ would be equal "S a=1". The same question about a variable containing current routine name.

S a=1

Migrating from Oracle, MSSQL, or other purely relational database systems to a multimodel InterSystems IRIS is a strategic decision that requires careful planning and execution. While this transition offers significant benefits, including enhanced performance, scalability, and support for modern architectures, it also comes with challenges. In this article I will highlight some of the considerations connected to coding to ensure a successful migration. I will leave everything connected to an actual migration of structures and data outside the scope of this article.

First, when you're considering migrating to a different database system, you need to understand your business logic, whether it's on the side of the application (application server) or the database server. Basically, where do you have your SQL statements that you will need to potentially rewrite?

Intersystems provides External language server connections for various languages which,
from a development perspective, is great as I can keep my application code separate but still interact with the IRIS kernel.

It becomes more complex though if you are using Interoperability etc where you might end up with some code in IRIS and some code in another language.

What would be great is having an IRIS to IRIS language server where the application code and stay IRIS based but separate from the database?

Do you have an idea that could make a real impact on InterSystems technology and be realised by Community members? Now’s the perfect time to share your thoughts!

We’re preparing something exciting and would love to see the ideas you think could take InterSystems to the next level. To achieve this, we need you to come up with new ideas for our Ideas Portal that could be considered as "Community Opportunity" ideas*.

Thus, put on your thinking cap and submit your ideas on the Ideas Portal by mid-November, and stay tuned for more updates.
