Recently I wanted to get a list of all cached queries and their texts. Here's how to do that.

First create an SQL Procedure returning Cache Query text from a Cached Query routine name:

Class test.CQ

The ID of the last updated record can be obtained using the SQL function LAST_IDENTITY().
* This function can be used with embedded SQL or ODBC but not with Dynamic SQL, SQL Shell, or the Management Portal's SQL interface.

Here's an example of usage with simple Embedded SQL:

Let's say we have two serial classes, one as a property of another:

And a persistent class, that has a property of test.Serial type:

Since we have access to the data from our external table, we can use everything that Iris has to offer with this data. Let's, for example, read the data from our external table and generate a polynomial regression with it.

• JSON_OBJECT - A conversion function that returns data as a JSON object.
• JSON_ARRAY - A conversion function that returns data as a JSON array.
• IS JSON - Determines if a data value is in JSON format.
• JSON_TABLE function returns a table that can be used in a SQL query by mapping JSON.
• JSONPath support - is a query language for querying values in JSON.
