Hi all. Yesterday I tried to connect Apache Spark, Apache Zeppelin, and InterSystems IRIS. During the process, I experienced troubles connecting it all together and I did not find a useful guide. So, I decided to write my own.

Introduction

What is Apache Spark and Apache Zeppelin and find out how it works together. Apache Spark is an open-source cluster-computing framework. It provides an interface for programming entire clusters with implicit data parallelism and fault tolerance. So, it is very useful when you need to work with Big Data.

Readmission Demo 2.0 is here! And it is open source now!

Hi everyone,

I am very pleased to announce that the Readmission Demo has been released as open source. Many thanks to the Solution Factory team that worked hard on making this possible.

Here are the changes:

  • It is now running on top of IRIS Community 2019.3.0.308.0.
  • It has synthetic data based on Synthea instead of the real data we were using before. But the machine learning models are 100% real
  • Image RRLACESrv has been renamed to “image-riskengine”
  • Image “readmissionsrv” has been renamed to “image-risksrv"
  • We refactored a lot of the code on image-riskengine to look better.

ML Toolkit can now use IntegratedML

InterSystems IRIS ML Toolkit adds the power of InterSystems IntegratedMLto further extend convergent scenario coverage into the area of automated feature and model type/parameter selection. The previous "manual" pipelines now collaborate within the same analytic process with "auto" pipelines that are based on automation frameworks, such as H2O.

Fast transfer. Pass globals, classes and tables from InterSystems IRIS to Python with ease and speed (10x faster than old QueryExecute). Documentation.

Proxy Gateway allows generation of ObjectScript classes for Python classes. Instantinate objects, call object and class methods using familiar ObjectScript code (docs).
