Introduction

MonLBL is a tool for analyzing the performance of ObjectScript code execution line by line. codemonitor.MonLBL is a wrapper based on the %Monitor.System.LineByLine package from InterSystems IRIS, designed to collect precise metrics on the execution of routines, classes, or CSP pages.

Hi Developers!

As you know the concept of ObjectScript Package Manager consists of ZPM client - client application for IRIS which helps you to install packages from the registry. And the code which works "on the other side" is ZPM Registry - server which hosts packages and exposes API to submit, list and install it. Now when you install the ZPM client it installs packages from community package registry, which si hosted on pm.community.intersystems.com

But what if you want your own registry? E.g. you produce different software packages for your clients and you want to distribute it via private registry? Also, you may want to use your own registry to deploy solutions with different combinations of packages.

Is it possible? The answer is YES! You can have it if you deploy ZPM registry on your server with InterSystems IRIS.

To make it happen you would need to set up your own registry server.

How to send messages to Microsoft Teams

Hi community,

The aim of this article is to explain how to create messaging between IRIS and Microsoft Teams.

In my company, we wanted to monitor error messages, and we used the Ens.Alert class to redirect those error messages through a Business Operation that sent an email.
The problem was that we sent those error messages to a support account where there were many emails. We wanted something specific for a specific team.

So we investigated how to make these messages reach the development team directly and they could have, in real time, a notification of an error in our production.
In our company we use Microsoft Teams as a corporate tool, so we asked ourselves: How could we make these messages reach the IRIS development team?

While IKO already allows for the use of NodeSelectors to enforce the scheduling of IRISCluster nodes across multiple zones, multi-region k8s clusters are generally not recommended or even supported in the major CSP's managed Kubernetes solutions. RabbitMQ is a message broker that allows producers (those who send a data message) and consumers (those who receive a data message) to establish asynchronous, real-time, and high-performance massive data flows. RabbitMQ supports AMQP (Advanced Message Queuing Protocol), an open standard application layer protocol.
The main reasons to employ RabbitMQ include the following:

  • You can improve the performance of the applications using an asynchronous approach.
  • It lets you decouple and reduce dependencies between services, microservices, and applications with the help of a data message mediator, meaning that there is no need for producers and consumers of exchanged data to know each other.
  • It allows the long-running processing of sent data (with the results) to be delivered after utilizing a response queue.
  • It helps you migrate from monolithic to microservices, where microservices exchange data via Rabbit in a decoupled and asynchronous way.
  • It offers reliability and resilience by making it possible for messages to be stored and forwarded. A message can be delivered multiple times until it is processed.
  • Message queueing is the key to scaling your application. As the workload increases, you will only have to add more workers to handle the queues faster.
  • It works well with data streaming applications.
  • It is beneficial for IoT applications.
  • It is a must for Bots’ communication.
