gj :: locate was the entry from George James Software for the Developer Tools competition back in April 2021. When an ObjectScript error is reported, gj :: locate takes the .int line location and navigates you directly to the line in the source file where the error originated. Over the past few months we've found it a very useful tool when it comes to debugging, especially when used alongside the Serenji debugger in Visual Studio Code.

Our first update, version 1.1.0, now includes support for multi-root workspaces. This enables gj :: locate to be used with every workspace folder. If your VS Code workspace has more than one root level folder, connecting to different namespaces or perhaps different servers, then gj :: locate will determine which workspace folder is current and locate the source code in that folder. If your workspace doesn't have any files open then gj :: locate will prompt you to select a folder from a pick-list.

This will particularly benefit VS Code power users who have workspaces with simultaneous connections to multiple namespaces, on multiple different IRIS and Caché servers.

If you would like to try it out then you can download it from the VS Code marketplace. Or if you’re already a user, then gj :: locate will automatically update. Let us know how you're getting on with it!

I have had customers who would rather use a backup application rather than using IRIS Backups. In my experience, I have tried a number of free backup tools and I have paid for at least two "very good Backup Tools" and all of them have failed to create usable backups especially if my Ensemble/IRIS Instances are still running and even if Ensemble/IRIS have been shut down I have found that the backups created by these tools have around an 80% chance of being able to restore a system (let's assume that I am not trying to backup core Windows elements like the Registry and Windows system files).

I need to create a dialogbox  on my zenpage to confirm a Delete operation. 

I tried using below code on in a my client side method but its creating a blank dialog box.

Is there a way i can create a Dialog box with text "Do you want to delete" and two buttons "Yes" and "No" and store the response in the calling client/server method.

We’ve published an update to the Serenji debug extension for Visual Studio Code, making it ready for the Workplace Trust feature in VS Code 1.57.

This allows the Serenji ObjectScript editor to work without restrictions across all workspaces and, by bringing it in line with the VS Code update, only allows the debugging feature to be used in trusted workspaces.

Getting this error:

I've some data that I need to convert over to a new system and the old uses %GlobalCharacterStream data type for one of its fields and I''m unable to display or extract to a spreadsheet, any help pls?

I'm looking for a way to get the message header ID for the current message in a Request to a Business Process.

I've located some code that gives me what I need, but it runs the risk of violating the "abstraction layer" ISC has in place around such things. And while I very much appreciate their efforts at keeping things simple for me ... well, sometimes you just have to dig through the guts to get what you want.

is it possible to avoid the display of certain properties in a custom message class in the message viewer content section. The message class is a common Ens.Request with a bunch of properties alongside one property of Type enslib.dicom.document wich in Turn is Not extended By %XML.Adaptor so the content display of course displays an error. 

My idea is to avoid the display of That certain property When output is rendered (Text/XML). Using Ens.Util.MessageBodyMethods and method %OnShowContents could be a way to do this But i don‘t find a way to do so.

I have created a method than evaluates an XML expression using the EvaluateExpression method. I need to replace an element value by other string but I couldn't find the way of doing it.

To get that, first I have created the "%XML.XPATH.Document" object using an stream and then I have evaluated the XML expression with the "EvaluateExpression" method. Once I found the element I would like to replace,  I got the value of the element using "do element.Read()" and "set cadena = element.Value" and then I realized some transformations like $ZCVT.

I'm looking for a user-friendly way to make a method library available in DTL, and by user-friendly I mean via '..MyMethod()' or '$$$MyMacro()' rather than  '##class(MyPackage.MyClassName).MyMethod()'.

Does anybody know of a way to add a second superclass or a set of macros to a DTL ... or some other trick?

I believe most of you have encounted this problem: a healthconnect/ensemble user get a slow response and ask measurement on how long it takes ensmeble to process this request, the ensemble 'activity data' gives no clue of the delay.

The reason is HealthConnect message measurement was based on ensemble message, which can’t give a correct answer on when ensmeble recevie the request and what time it send back response. when there is delay on inbound/outbound adpter, or csp gateway, there is no way to find out the delay from "activity data" . 

I am asked by a customer how to deal with this problem.

I have a requirement to update the Ensemble Host Settings Programmatically.  Mainly the  "AlertOnError,QueueCountAlert,QueueWaitAlert,InactivityTimeout" settings.
I used Ens_Config.Item (persistent) class to get the settings (list object) and then update it. But for some of the Business Host's, I dont see the above settings in the table, but present in Settings of that particular Host in Ensemble Management Portal. So my logic is not working.

Why is that and how to write a code to update the above settings for all the hosts ?

Please let me know the way to achieve my requirement.

I need some help. I have a requirement where HL7 messages will be sent through http. I am trying to read through the documentation & want some guidance.

The client is asking for a URL. So should I simply send the Ensemble url to them? Does the message structure change? How does Ensemble handle incoming http messages? Do I just create a http business service and it should come across fine?

Has anyone done a project with http? Would love some information on how it worked for you

I have a business service (EnsLib.EDI.XML.Service.FileService (charset=binary)) which reads XML-files from the server and transmits those to the business process. BP request class is EnsLib.EDI.XML.Document. In BP I have code block

I am updating the PV1 segment with values from the database but when I get two values back I dont know how to separate them with a tilde and insert. Any advice for me on that?

I'm attempting a first-time installation of IRIS for Health on my home Mac for eval purposes. I want to be able to install IRIS and Ensemble. I downloaded the package but it doesn't come with instructions, and I'm running into issues. Is there a straightforward install instruction set online, or does anyone have one you can pass along?

I have a vendor that is sending an HL7 message. But when I asked for more detail about their mapping tables, they told me they typically don't supply that but supply an API for customers to call so they don't have to define tables and it is more dynamic.

So with that being said I am creating my first REST operation. I understand the gist of how a REST operation works in working with other types out Non HL7 Operations (SOAP, SQL) before. You send a request and get a response back, that part I understand.

we have a EnsLib.Workflow.TaskRequest wich is been send to an operation. The Task request contains a simple object, for that we´ve extendd EnsLib.Workflow.TaskRequest and added the object as an aditional property. The request is successfully created. But how to access the contents of this object from within the user portal when showing the task.

Our TaskRequest contains an object named Patient with some properties. We´d like to display the contents in the tasks description area. WE´ve created an additional template but have a hard time to access the values of the patient object.

There will be serious errors and garbled code when I use the Data Migration to connect to MySQL through JAVA gateway. In fact , there are always many problems when I import data to the Caché database.
