Hola amigo! 😊 Cómo estás hoy,

I would like to share a small part of my learnings from my first ever official project: POS/EDC machine integration with our billing system. This was an exciting challenge where I got hands-on experience working with APIs and vendors.

How does a Payment Machine actually work?

It's simple, start by initiating/creating a transaction, then retrieve its payment status.

Here, initiate/create refers to POST method and Retrieve refers to GET.

Hi everyone,
I'm getting prepared to take the following certification exam: "InterSystems IRIS Development Professional".

Can you give some advice on how to prepare (aside from the official course page: https://www.intersystems.com/certifications/intersystems-iris-development-professional/ )?
Do you have examples of quiz questions that simulate the real exam or any material that helped you getting prepared?

Can someone give me an explanation of how Local.PD.Linkage.Definition.Individual works? This was setup by another company as part of our implementation.

Below is my configuration..

We are getting a lot of matches on Given Name, but then the Family Name does not match at all, so I am wondering if these need to be adjusted. I just don't understand if they need to be positive or negative.

Now Under Heavy Rotation, Your IrisCluster Secrets

A few days before Kubecon, the external-secrets-operator went GA with 1.0.0 and is set to ride shotgun for Kubernetes Secrets Management and put Vault in the backseat. You can glance at the "Providers" list for the solution and immediatley understand that you can leave the "which Secrets Manager" conversation to others while you do your job utilizing external secrets on your IrisCluster workloads, which by my count with the operator and a single IrisCluster is more than a fistful of secrets of different types, even under a single tenant. So let them sprawl, the secrets managers that is, not the secrets.

What is MQTT Broker

Hi Guys,

I'm a newbie in term of MQTT clients & brokers, and I've created a MQTT adapter to connect to a broker and I asked our system admin for the user/pass and the URL and this where we got stuck.

The admin is saying that all he has is IP address to the PEM key to the server itself, so my question is, is the broker the server itself and the url is the url to the server or is the Broker an application (eg. Mosquito) that runs in a server and if that's the case and if its Mosquito, where do I find the connection details to it (user/pass & URL) ?

Thanks

In the previous article, we talked about ODBC and connecting from C#. And now, let's look at JDBC and Java. The InterSystems JDBC driver is the recommended, high-performance way to integrate your Java applications.

Here is a step-by-step guide to getting your Java application connected to an IRIS instance using the JDBC driver.

Step 1: Obtain and Include the InterSystems IRIS JDBC Driver

Unlike ODBC drivers, which are often installed system-wide, JDBC drivers are typically distributed as JAR files that must be included in your Java project's classpath.

If InterSystems IRIS is installed on your local machine or another you have access to, you can find the file in install-dir/dev/java/lib/ or similar, where install-dir is the installation directory for the instance. Conversely, you can download the jar file from Driver packages page.

Include the jar file in Project:

  • Maven/Gradle: If you use a build tool, the simplest method is to add the InterSystems JDBC driver as a dependency in your pom.xml or build.gradle file. This automatically downloads and manages the JAR.
  • Manual: For simple projects, you must place the JAR file in a project directory (e.g., /lib) and explicitly add it to your classpath when compiling and running.

Vibe the Module, Not the Data

While working with the FHIR to OMOP Service, I've seen good FHIR synthetic data being created using commercial LLM's etc, custom tailored for ConditionOnset with the typical amazement on return, but witnessed some questionable trust first hand on a call. This approach also falls short generating gigantic payloads so I can go back to my interests on the backend and ensure smooth data transition.

Hello!

I'm trying to create some foreign tables to a PostgreSQL database. In some cases, columns with certain datatypes cannot be consumed by IRIS and the following error is thrown:

[SQLCODE: <-237>:<Schema import for foreign table did not return column metadata>]

[%msg: <Unkown data type returned by external database>]

For example: serial4 typed ID columns are typical examples. Is it possible, what's the best way of resolving these datatypes, which- seemingly- don't have proper JDBC metadata mappings?
