Has anyone used ClearRuntimeAppData, I am using the EnsLib.SQL.InboundAdapter and pulls the SQL query fine, but if the service needs to keep pulling the same rows the next time the service is started but it will not, due to the parameter “key Field Name”

Is it possible to add quotations " " so that it is part of the output?

For example:

set b = "Cat"

Set c = b

w c giving an output of "Cat" as opposed to Cat.

I am looking for some ideas from people who have automated alerting in place for their Ensemble or IRIS productions.

I want to start with basic things like, simply checking if a Production is up and running. Once this has been achived, I am looking to go deeper and implement monitoring on each interface level for things like, Queue Size, Errors and Inactivity.

Is there two matching patterns in Caché, is there a difference in use one or the other?
Example:

USER>set a = "(1234)"

Using $match.

USER>w $match(a,"\([0-9]{4}\)")

USER>1

Using literal match (sorry if not correctly term expression)

USER>W a?1"("4n1")"

USER>1

What is different from using one or the other?

The 'a?1"("4n1")"' does this pattern exist only Caché.
Exists performance improvement with use pattern Caché?

Do you have any experience / recommendations / best practice on how to update server-side data residing in a Cache database via a REST service?

A naïve approach would be to send a full JSON representation of the data object via an http POST to a method on a REST handler class:

The problem I see here is, if only one of the data object's properties has changed, how do we know which? Or do we simply overwrite all properties?

Currently we are using Delegated Authentication using ZAUTHENTICATE to look at the groups that are associated with a user and if it matches a role within IRIS, to assign the user to that role within IRIS.

Over time I have created an house-automation solution based on IRIS:
90% of my code is pure ObjectScript, with the most recent 10% being the use of Python libraries for specific tasks.
All of the above being terminal based up to now.

I would like to expose some configuration options / parameters via a very simple web page, to be serviced with the IRIS private web service (so I don't want to use an external Webserver just for this..)

I was playing around with the python binding for caché (2018.1.4) and I ran into some problems.

When executing the class query "List" from SYS.Database the pythonbind interface throws an exception, that seems to be caused by a mismatch of the defined SQL datatypes for this query and what is actually returned (or the lack of type conversion in the pythonbind interface).

Is this a known issue ? Are there solutions/workarounds for this,
Or is this a bug ?
