I have a problem where one of our 3rd party systems is only able to accept HL7 messages with UTF-8 encoding but the originating messages have Windows 1252 encoding. Does anyone know a way in which I can change the encoding for the entire message from Windows 1252 to UTF-8? I have only been able to find the CONVERT method to change individual charachters but we would like to change the entire HL7 message encoding.
In the modern digital age, securing applications, particularly those handling sensitive health data, is paramount. The confidentiality, integrity, and availability of such data are crucial, necessitating robust security measures. Two-factor authentication (2FA) stands out as a critical enhancement in safeguarding access, adding an extra layer of security beyond just passwords. Recognizing the significance of this feature, InterSystems provides built-in support for 2FA in its database solutions. This tutorial aims to guide you through the process of configuring two-factor authentication in your InterSystems environment, ensuring that your data remains secure and accessible only to authorized users.
Now that IRIS 2021.1 is available as a preview version, I would like to demonstrate a "new" feature. The Java Gateway has been around for a while now but in 2021.1 it has new skills. External Language Servers are available for Java, DotNet, and Python. Here is a quick - very quick - demo of using the External Java Server. Please don't focus solely on what this demo is doing but rather on what is happening in this demo. First, I acquire a gateway connection oref. This gateway connection is connected to the External Java Server - one of the External Language Servers.
I was working on a scenario in which I wanted the acks and/nacks received from one downstream system to another interface which is not the source of the original message. Is there a way to achieve this scenario?
The reason being there's a separate interface handling the acks and will be used to manage the errors.
We recently moved our workstations to Windows 10 and so we updated all our local installations to IRIS (servers already run IRIS 2019.1). Now we are trying to connect our pyCharm to IRIS but we can't succeed.

In my routine when I call set filestream.FileName = filename, I get an error
"cn_iptcp://localhost:56773/USER/%Stream.FileBinary.1.INT" does not exist on the Server
I successfully instantiate the %Stream.FileCharacter object. 'filestream' value is '1@%Stream.FileCharacter'. But when I debug the code, the step where I try to set the file name fails.
The port number for local host looks good for my current instance. I have tried a few variations, such as using the method FileNameSet(). But this did not work either.
Since most of our customers moved to Caché 2015.1, some admins became abused with CPUPct warnings (sometimes alerts) in console log without other signs of lacking CPU power. Documentation states that:
September 24, 2018 – Advisory: VMWare vSAN and Data Integrity
Clients running vSAN 6.6 or later should review a very important article that VMware published on September 21, 2018. The article describes the possibility of file system and database corruption, which can lead to outages and possible data loss, and we believe that some of our clients have encountered this issue. Therefore, we encourage you to act on this as soon as possible.
To create a user-defined error you need to prepare the XML that describes the error code and corresponding message that you want to use as a user-defined error.
Could you please help anyone how to import Python package in %SYSTEM package and to use python methods to write in object script class?
