Why do these clauses affect SQL performance?

select ID from some_table where row_status in ('I','U') order by ID limit 5 - makes the query infinite select top 10 ID from some_table where row_status in ('I','U') order by ID - the same select ID from some_table where row_status in ('I','U') order by ID - is fast

Actually there are no rows in the table having row_status 'I' or 'U'.

Is there any way to know the text of the SQL queries executed against the IRIS server?

My case: I have an SQL class query with a few parameters and and some combination of values causes unexpected results.

It'd be great if I could just copy the query from some log of queries done vs my IRIS the server. Cannot find it easily, though. Any advice?

We are accessing an InterSystems Cacha database from Microsoft SQL Server using a linked server over ODBC (ODBC35). Queries are executed using OPENQUERY.

On the SQL Server side, there is a linked server property called Query Timeout. By default it is set to 0 (no timeout). We are considering setting it to 15 seconds and would like to understand how Cache behaves in this scenario.

I’m trying to execute a directory query in InterSystems IRIS using %SQL.Statement, but encountering an unexpected error.

Details:
The following command confirms that the directory exists:

Set dirPath="\\MYNETWORK_DRIVE\DFS-Shared_Product\GXM"
Write ##class(%File).DirectoryExists(dirPath)

It returns 1, meaning the path is valid and accessible.

However, when I try to execute this SQL query:

Set File=##Class(%SQL.Statement).%New()
Set Status=File.%PrepareClassQuery("%File","FileSet")
Set Result=File.%Execute(dirPath)
If Result.%SQLCODE {
    Write Result.

As foreign tables are behind a paywall (booo); we have a external cache system using the intersystems ODBC driver or usually a .jar CacheDB.jar. 

The requirement is :

"Create a copy of the external table once a day to perform comparisons to detect changes"

We could go full code and this is what we will do but trying the following should ideally work

in my store procedure,  I create code like this?

$ListToString(%DLIST(DISTINCT (MRDIA_ICDCode_DR)),'<br/>') as "MRDIA_ICDCode_DR", -> it's works fine

as you see there's a <br/> in the display of the report

I have no idea about this, maybe someone can help me fix this problem ?

I have a little problem, I need to diplay the data based on input status (first time and after)

the notes become new because it is the first time that the data has been inputed, and it will become old if we have the data before (2nd data, 3rd data  the notes will become old).

I've try to use SubQuery (with LAG Script also) but it doesn't works, because it will give a notes Old even it's a New Data

I have issue with one of my queries. That query work fine for ages, but suddenly stop works and giving me SQLCODE 100 in the routine.

We have our system with AutoParallel enabled:

But whenever I try to run any sql the autoparallel does not work. For example, this simple query:

When I force it with %PARALLEL we can see it will effectively run in parallel:

The total records is bigger than the threshold. So, what can go wrong? Anyone in the same situation?

I HAVE A NEW SQL CLASS THAT DISPLAYS ENTRIES BASED ON THE FIRST 2 NODES OF A GLOBAL. As per the Build index documentation "If you use BUILD INDEX on a live system, the index is temporarily labeled as not selectable, meaning that queries cannot use the index while it is being built. Note that this will impact the performance of queries that use the index." Is this  hiding/not selectable is only applicable for BUILD INDEX or it supports class level %BuildIndices as well. as far as my analysis both syntax setting this setting  SetMapSelectability.
