RSA Encryption Decryption

Hi guys,

I try to make a test of encryption, decryption of a simple text.

I can crypt my text, but I can't decrypt it, do you see somewhere a dummy error of my part ?

Thanks for help

ClassMethod UnitTest()

{

set inputPlainText = "David"

// get private key

set privKeyFileName = "C:\temp\toto.pem"

set privobjCharFile = ##class(%Stream.FileCharacter).%New()

set privobjCharFile.Filename = privKeyFileName

set privKey = privobjCharFile.Read()

Recently viewed a demo on the new Dynamic Objects in InterSystems (we are still running 2016.1); together with the upcoming IRIS data platform I started thinking about possibilities of building dynamic databases. That is, I can imagine some projects were it might be really nice to store dynamic objects and then run sql queries on them without ever defining the fields of the dynamic objects (i.e. not at storage, but only if you run your sql query).

$ZTRAP vs Try/Throw/Catch

I'm scraping my way through some code that's been around for a while, and came across the use of $ZTRAP and (dear GOD) GOTO for trapping and handling errors.

In an effort to "modernize" it and make it, I don't know, less M-ish (sorry old-timers!), I'm replacing it with Try/Catch blocks.

Some questions:

  1. Is this a dumb idea?
  2. Anything I should look out for?
  3. Did I hurt anyone's feelings?

And if the answer to number 3 is Yes, my deepest apologies ... I love you guys! 🤩

I am working on JSON and want to be prepared to handle large Objects. I try this code:

ClassMethod MaxLen() As %Status

{

set longStr=""

for i=1:1:$SYSTEM.SYS.MaxLocalLength() { set longStr = longStr_"x" }

write "Maximum string length = "_$LENGTH(longStr)

;

set longObject = {"a":(longStr),"b":(longStr)}

set file=##class(%File).%New("/tmp/longObjectFile.txt")

do file.Open("WSN")

do longObject.%ToJSON(file)

do file.Close()

;

do file.Open("RS")

I am a first time Python Contest participant and am interested in potentially implementing the community idea found in https://ideas.intersystems.com/ideas/DPI-I-542 if it is something relevant to Python.

Would anyone be able to shed a bit of light on what the desired outcome of that idea being implemented is? There were a lot of upvotes on that idea but there wasn't very much information in it. Thanks!

Hi Community!

When you run IRIS container out-of-the-box and connect to it via terminal e.g. with:

docker-compose exec iris bash

You see something like:

root@7b19f545187b:/opt/app# irissession IRIS

Node: 7b19f545187b, Instance: IRIS

Username: ***

Password: ***

USER>

And you enter login and password every time.

How to programmatically setup docker-compose file to have IRIS container with OS authentication enabled? And have the following while entering the terminal:

root@7b19f545187b:/opt/app# irissession IRIS

Node: 7b19f545187b, Instance: IRIS

USER>

Hi Developers!

InterSystems IRIS stores everything in globals and if we use ObjectScript classes to persist data class documents globals it uses in storage. But if you use globals for calculations, temporary storages, for special indexes or for some other purposes - how do you document it?

Possible options which come to my mind:

1. Macro

#define Array ^MyGlobal

usage:

s $$$Array(1)=1

2. Class parameter

Parameter Array ="^MyGlobal";

Usage:

I am using a JDBC connection to MS SQL server to execute a stored procedure to select data and bring it into InterSystems as a EnsLib.SQL.Snapshot. I loop through the EnsLib.SQL.Snapshot using a while loop, but I also want to iterate through the Columns within that Row to do logic.

Is there a way to iterate through the Columns of the current Row of the EnsLib.SQL.Snapshot so I can apply logic/rules for further processing?

Thanks

Scott

How do you search with REST

The question is pretty much in title. I'm developing a REST API, it has a search endpoint with 10 optional parameters. How do I pass them and stay RESTFul?

To ease the question a bit let's agree that:

  • all parameters are AND parameters, user can't make combos, ORs, etc. User can only provide values
  • all values are integers so I don't have to think about URL limits
  • all values are atomic
  • all conditions are about equivalency

Some options I know of:

1. URL parameters.

Greetings community. I would like to know how to migrate a BD in production to a local environment. When I have a system in production (BD Sql Server) what we do is mount a local copy to do the analysis with the data and not occupy resources of the system in production. My question is: How do you do it with Intersystems technology?

First webinar on InterSystems API Management!

We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming webinar in Russian: Introduction to InterSystems API Management on November 21 at 10:00 Moscow time (GMT+3)!

As you might have heard, we recently introduced the InterSystems API Manager (IAM) - a new feature of the InterSystems IRIS Data Platform,
enabling you to monitor, control and govern traffic to and from web-based APIs within your IT infrastructure.

In this webinar I will highlight some of the many capabilities IAM allows you to leverage. InterSystems API Manager brings everything you need:

  • to monitor your HTTP-based API traffic and understand who is using your APIs; what are your most popular APIs and which could require a rework.
  • to control who is using your APIs and restrict usage in various ways. From simple access restrictions to throttling API traffic and fine-tuning request payloads, you have fine-grained control and can react quickly.
  • to protect your APIs with central security mechanisms like OAuth2.0 or Key Token Authentication.
  • to onboard third-party developers and provide them with a superb developer experience right from the start by providing a dedicated Developer Portal for their needs.
  • to scale your API demands and deliver low-latency responses

There would be a live demo.

This webinar is for System Architects, Developers and DevOps Engineers.
Time: November 21 at 10:00 Moscow time (GMT+3)!

The language of the webinar is Russian.
