Hi! I have a local project written on Cache and Atelier on my PC. I need to move it to notebook. Tried to export globals, classes, MAC-programms and csp with frontend stuff, but after I created my apps on notebook and imported my set, it just didn't work. I think it's because I have some settings on Management Portal, so how can I export portal settings and what I should export to have my working apps on another computer?

M:N Relationship is a recurring object of my interest for a long time.

And this article is a heads up, that this is not always true, don't expect it as granted!

Often we need to deploy some data along with code pieces of the application.

And for InterSystems IRIS developers the question could sound: "How can I deploy the data I have in globals?"

Here I want to suggest to you one of the approaches - deploying global data using the ZPM package manager.

I have created a package that offers a utility to load a Global into JSON object and reverse
to create a Global from this type of JSON object. Compact refers to the structure created.
Globals nodes are included with data for a fast data load.
But also the related code is quite compact.

In Caché, it's possible to iterate a local array using $QUERY() :

set a("bar") = 30

set key = "a"
for

     set key = $QUERY(@key)
     quit:key="" 
     write key_" = "_@key
}

This code works perfectly, unless it's called in a job (eg: a routine called by the JOB command).

This package offers a utility to export an XLarge Global into a JSON object file and to show
or import it again. In a previous example, this all was processed in memory. But if this is a
large Global you may either experience <MAXSTRING> or an <STORE> error
if the generated JSON structure exceeds available memory.

QEWD is assumed by most people to only integrate with IRIS (or Cache) via a connection through IRIS's high-performance C interface. This requires QEWD (and its Node.js environment) to be installed and configured on the same machine as IRIS.

I'm frequently asked if QEWD can run on a separate server (or servers), and access IRIS (or Cache) over a network connection. The answer is yes it can, but the information on how to set it up in this way has been admittedly a bit tricky to discover.

Is there a way to export globals in XML if I have the access to Management Portal or any other web app?

Currently, it gives the option to export into gof format only.

I have a global that defines the instance that Ensemble is running under. I want to use this as part of another Global so I don't have to hard code a path.

For Example

Hi, we suddenly noticed that one of the edge storage increased by 30% and it was due to ERROR globals which was throwing repeated error for 7 days and it consumed 35GB space. Is there a way to log the storage of edge production on daily basis and compare the increase in storage with previous day and if increase is 5% more than trigger an email to system admit to look why the storage increased suddenly.
