In this article, I will introduce my application iris-HL7v2Gen .

IRIS-HL7v2Gen is a CSP application that facilitates the dynamic generation of HL7 test messages. This process is essential for testing, debugging, and integrating healthcare data systems. The application allows users to generate a wide variety of HL7 message types, validate their structure against HL7 specifications, explore the message hierarchy, and transmit messages over TCP/IP to production systems. These features are particularly useful in settings where compliance with HL7 standards is mandatory for interoperability between different healthcare organizations or systems.

This is more for my memory that anything else but I thought I'd share it because it often comes up in comments, but is not in the InterSystems documentation. 

There is a wonderful utility called ^REDEBUG that increases the level of logging going into mgr\cconsole.log. 

You activate it by

a) start terminal/login

b) zn "%SYS"

c) do ^REDEBUG

d) change logging level to FFFFFFFF

if you are on you production system (with lots of traffic) I suggest you quickly reproduce the error, rename the cconsole.log file, and repeat the steps above to set the logging level to FF.

I am currently working with the CD Ruby machine, which is connected through DIGI. When I click on the “Test Link” option on the instrument, I can see the following behavior in Wireshark logs:

Ensemble sends an ACK (06) after receiving ENQ (05), followed by EOT (04) (somewhat like above photo). However, when another ENQ is received, Ensemble does not send an ACK in response. As a result, the instrument displays a failure message.

We use the Caché JDBC Gateway to Oracle and SQL servers to directly invoke their stored procedures from Ensemble. Getting quick, inline data results back are typically handled within the Functions.Library class as a function to wrap the query and format the return appropriately.

But what about more elaborate stored procedures made for posting data without log-jamming a Router?  The operations to construct those data pipelines can get tedious, especially when changes are needed.

Here we have requirement to process messages min 10 sec delay. Current time it is taking my businessProcess is less than 1 sec.

To implement this requirement , I need to sleep 10 sec in business process custom code.

Could somebody help me to implement delay in BusinessProcess.

I am trying to duplicate the production flow in the Ensemble 2018 but after doing all the steps (like copying same class file, adapter file, process class file) as production, still the flow is not working. The error is that it is not reaching the operation (which is supposed to store the data), it gets stuck in the processes. Additionally, I am also trying to add a logic where in OUL message if the value of code 20061 > 30mg, it should automatically send another order back to service (OML).

Hello, I am trying to get some fields from HL7 message and create a file using BPL.  The values I need are in a repeating segment (AIG).  Even in the repeating segment, I just want the iteration that has a certain field (AIG:3 populated).  With the help of documentation and community posts, I was able to create the BPL to loop through all of AIG and create the file.  But when I try to narrow the results even further (AIG:3 present), the process gets stuck.  I am not sure I am missing anything or have anything incorrectly set up.

I want to consume an API that provides HL7 messages. To achieve this, I have thought of the following workflow:

I have created a business service that periodically triggers a business process. The trigger request is forwarded to a business operation. There, a %Net.HttpRequest is assembled from scratch and then sent to the API endpoint. The corresponding HttpResponse then contains several HL7 messages encoded in UTF-8 in the message body. To further process the HL7 messages, the operation sends the HttpResponse back to the business process as EnsLib.HTTP.GenericMessage.

I've modified the class file, but messages still arrive as a single line (e.g., "H|.../rQ|.../rL") instead of separate lines in the ASTM service. The <ENQ>..<EOT> header looks correct, logs show no errors, and the service receives messages fine. Is there an Ensemble 2018.1 engine setting (like line terminator handling or TCP framing) to fix the line splitting? ​

When using InterSystems IRIS as an interoperability engine, we all know and love how easy it is to use the Message Viewer to review message traces and see exactly what's going on in your production. When a system is handling millions of messages per day, you may not know exactly where to begin your investigation though.

Since last week when I create a new class definition, It is created without the full name into the signature class and I have to put it by myself.

I thougth that should be any configuration about the language patterns, but I didn`t found it.

I frequently use the #call (https://docs.intersystems.com/latest/csp/docbook/DocBook.UI.Page.cls?KE…) feature to make asynchronous calls in the CSP. However, in some cases, I encounter a timeout issue with the CSP Gateway. Is there any way to change this call timeout? I don't want to change the default configuration in the CSP Gateway.

We have an existing process (running in FIFO order), all business hosts having pool size=1.

Currently we are reading records from a file (one record at a time) then that record goes to business process for further processing and finally through the business operation. As of now we are using synchronous call in our existing code. Before processing the last record we are using hang of 50 seconds because we need to initiate a batch once the processing of last record is finished.

This process is taking too much time for a file having 0.1 million records (max records in a file).

You probably know this situation:
Some time ago, you found a very special $ZU function for a very specific type of problem. Some kind of mystical formula. It became popular and was used by many developers throughout your code and across all your installations.

Several versions and updates later, you are informed by ISC that your mystical $ZU is deprecated and no longer supported. You are advised to replace it with a new $something().

So, how do you find and document the usage of this mysterious code?

When working with InterSystems Interoperability (Iris / Health Connect / Ensemble), configuration data is often spread across many production items: services, processes, operations, adapters, and their settings.

A common operational or security need is to answer questions like:

• Which interfaces reference file system paths?
• Where are directories, network shares, or absolute paths configured?
• Can I quickly audit or document this information across all my productions?

The ObjectScript utility below solves exactly that problem by exporting selected configuration settings into a CSV file.

The default settings for Stay Connected and Pool Size for business hosts using the TCP adapter are as follows:

If a network problem causes a connection to a business host to be lost, the production side will be unable to detect this and will not accept new connections. In this situation, no event is recorded in the event log. If StayConnected is set to its default value (-1), connections will not time out, and you will need to restart the business host before it can accept new connections.

You send an HTTP request and get back an HTTP error but with an HTML error page which you didn't expect... what's happening?... 🤔

Specifically for example, perhaps you tried to READ a FHIR Resource (e.g. /Patient/123) and you get back a 404 error page, even though with other Patient IDs, you get back the Resource payload, so "the page" definitely does exist... why should you be getting a 404 error page? 🙄
