I received an email notification and the only link was directly to the comment: https://community.intersystems.com/question406316/answer406331

From that page you can see that there is no way to get to the full question itself (unless I'm missing it).

Looking through my subscriptions it looks like I'm literally subscribed to the answer and not the main topic.

Unable To Change Name

Hi,

I'm currently unable to change my First Name from my account page.

Although my name is Thomas, I go by Joe.

Is there a reason I'm not able to edit my displayed name?

How can I change this?

This text editor... I swear...

I had typed up a large reply and then learned something new so I intended to hit CTRL+A to select everything and delete it. Can't do that. Apparently CTRL+A, like backspace, causes the input field to lose focus.

I HATE this editor.

In the subscriptions e-mails I get (digested), the URLs are typically wrapped across lines, like:

Responsive Design broken

Hi! I know that we have a layout for mobile devices, but it's broken on the pages with code snippets and another unfixed width content. Screenshots are attached.

I found that overflow property has 'auto' value, but the width (and max-width) property doesn't set for <pre>. Could you set max-width property for pre and other elements?

For example, these modified styles work fine for me on any screens for <pre> and <img> (with your media queries):

Bad format/layout to be fixed

PLease see attached image.

The layout of the "last comment/answer" on the list of topics has a line break in it creating bad layout.

Please fix. This fix will tighten up the list of topics displayed

Trouble editing my profile

I'm trying to edit my profile but running into trouble. When I go to the Edit tab, I can see a form for editing appear and then quickly disappear and then the only option I'm left with is this:

If I try to uncheck and save this setting, it appears to save, but when I navigate back it always remains checked.

Any suggestions?

Using Chrome on my Android mobile I can't seem to get to a specific submenu option. For example in the screenshot below I use the menu button to bring up the first-level menu. Then I tap on "COMMUNITY". The second-level menu appears briefly, but doesn't give me time to tap the entry I want ("FEEDBACK") before it decides to take me to the page headed "Connect with Members".

Am I missing a trick, or is this a bug?

When starting a post, especially for the beginner there are a lot of buttons, check marks, icons etc. On some of them when you hover you get a very brief descriptions. In reading through some of the responses to the Developer Community Feedback there is a lot of good information.

Could one of the moderators, who know all the tricks put together a one or two page "cheat sheet?" or beginner guide?

This "Cheat Sheet" would be of great help!

I get the impression that there is a great push to encourage others to use the Developers Community.

I've "favorited" several communites (the Ensemble community, for example). I assumed that since Ensemble shows up in my subscriptions I would receive emails when there was activity in that group. My settings are the defaults: hourly, on updates, on comments. Perhaps, I'm going about this the wrong way, but I would like to be able to subscribe to a community (and not just a conversation) and get email updates on activity. How do I set this up?

We can change to this mode of UI in the Create New Post that I think makes the tag usage easier. There's help text under the window in this screen shot and it will contain instructions on the use of tagging, the benefits and also a link to a standing post to request new tags. I think this method of operation will allow us to add many more tags without making them burdensome to navigate.

Thoughts?

Not quite sure how to connect groups to tags in this UI but that might be the next step.

With this release we've done a few things with subscriptions

1. Exposed personalization settings so you can control how and when you receive the email subscription notifications. See the image below

2. The ability to selectively subscribe to email notification for content by Tag. At the top of the "Browse by Tag" page there is a new link to Subscribe with Email.

as described in How to post an article from Word or Google Docs, you can use the Paste from Word button to paste content you have copied from a Word or Google Docs document into a Developer Community post.

this worked well for me pasting from Word 10 documents, and retained most (though not all) of my Word formatting. i did have one problem, however, and wanted to pass on my workaround.

Regarding Chat box

Hi Team,

Our community is most useful for my learning. I have one concern.We need to add a chat box for discuss and interact with other developer in our community . It is most useful for maintaining the team relationship and sometime we get guidance from anyone on directly. I known already we have the chat box in global master(that chatbox just we send greetingsrelated messages only). This same one is need for our community also(All are reading articals and question on our community page).So I am asking chat box on our community page also.

Simplifying the editor

Do you think our editor has too many unused features?

I propose removing some, so it would look nice & clean!

I noticed there were some very old dates listed.

What are these dates? Is it the date of the latest post? the date the group was created(not useful)?

Why is the community manager (with out a pic) listed above each of the groups (creator of the group )?

Listing the creator of the group and how longago it was created is not useful information. More useful info is the date of the last post.
