Hello community, simple question. I've been able to use a ternary operator equivalent by using $select for inline if statements using this pattern:

set x = 1

set result = $select(x = 1: "true", x = 0: "false")

These can be nested and can have a lot of options. But I'm curious if there is a native way of using ternary operators in ObjectScript?

When I down load a file using a csp page, the application shows the percentage as 37 %, 74 %, and 100 %. I am trying to make changes to the application that it shows one percentage after each read. The first time it reads, it would display 37%. The next run would replace

I have a class that has a property calledTags (like DescriptiveWords, but tags), where multiple tags are possible. I am trying to decide on list of Objects vs. array of Objects.

Based on this post: https://community.intersystems.com/post/querying-list-property-sql, sounds like using an array of Objects is the better way to go. Indeed, I already noticed that it's not possible to have duplicates when using an array of Objects.

I'm Trying to create a "Windowing Function" In Cache similar to SQL Server. I'm trying to create a Row Number for every account number (Example Below). I know I can use the %Vid function to create the Row Number but I need the row number to reset with every new account number. In SQL Server it would be Row_Number over (Partition by account number order by account number). and Example of what I am trying to create is below.

Ive been asked to investigate Intersystems Cache' for a new software initiative and was hoping to be able to download a limited-use or dev license to kick the tires but I need it for a couple of specific OS builds. AIX and Linux (CENTOS). I don't see a place to download specific versions, other than Windows, various builds of Unix and that's about it. Can someone give me some guidance on how to make sure I'm downloading the right item to build some test instances with?

I am trying to start cache form the Terminal window and I get the following error:

$ csession cache

Invalid ownership for ./cache

However looking at the permissions it appears I do have execution rights:

-r-xr-xr-x@ 1 root cacheusr 24616 18 Sep 22:16 csession

Hi Community,

I have a need to access the Lock Table to find the Process ID of the process that has a particular global node Locked. The process holding the lock could be on any one of four application servers.

Having identified the Process ID, I then need to interrogate the local variables for that process, to find an application User ID.

I can then inform the current user which of their colleagues has a particular record locked, preventing them from continuing with their work...

Are these things I can do under Caché? If so, how would I do so?
