Good day, I would like to find out the size of Caché ObjectScript variable in order to guarantee that my program will not leak, equally in terminal and Caché globals. For example how huge number I can store in that variable ? And what happen in Caché when variable will leak ? How is this behavior treated? (how much memory is reserved for common variable?)

When executing a business process I'd like to share the Login Token from an external system retrieved via one of my business operations across multiple process instances. This means I need to persist the token somewhere. What would be the best approach/pattern to implement this?

In this series of articles, I'd like to present and discuss several possible approaches toward software development with InterSystems technologies and GitLab. I will cover such topics as:
Git 101
Git flow (development process)
GitLab installation
GitLab WorkFlow
GitLab CI/CD
CI/CD with containers
This first part deals with the cornerstone of modern software development - Git version control system and various Git flows.
We're doing a small data integration project at our university and I've run into a problem.
I'm trying to make a counter that records the amount of messages (a simple .txt file transfer) that pass through a process and dumps that amount into a text file (preferably with a timestamp) every 10 minutes or so.
What I've gathered it's possible to do it via SQL query but linking that query into a process is something I haven't found any info on.
Are there any semi-beginner friendly ways to do this?

In the previous article, we covered Git basics, why a high-level understanding of Git concepts is important for modern software development, and how Git can be used to develop software. Still, our focus was on the implementation part of software development, but this part presents:
GitLab Workflow - a complete software life cycle process - from idea to user feedback
Continuous Delivery - software engineering approach in which teams produce software in short cycles, ensuring that the software can be reliably released at any time. It aims at building, testing, and releasing software faster and more frequently.
Hi all. Yesterday I tried to connect Apache Spark, Apache Zeppelin, and InterSystems IRIS. During the process, I experienced troubles connecting it all together and I did not find a useful guide. So, I decided to write my own.
Ok so I am way outside of my comfort zone, and had to build an application using CSP to give users the ability to access SQL configuration tables. These SQL Configuration tables will affect the data that is sent to the downstream system.
I saw in the examples where we were able to import GIF's/IMAGES into the CSP folders to use as a reference in our CSP pages. My question is how do you do that? If I try to import through studio, it tells me the file is invalid.
Just trying to make it a little more user friendly then blocks on a page.
Hello. New to the forum and was hoping I could get some expert help here. I have one data set that is using CHD Logic to combine Procedure and Diagnosis codes to define Sensitive data and flag the record for additional protected filtering. The files coming in define what is flagged and the Clinical Info Rule and Clinical Info Type are tied to the flag in the file which identifies it as a additional protected record.
I have a silly question of using InsertParam method and usage. I understand it is name value pair. I am using GET method to send a url and to get the details from server. URL has multiparameter

Good afternoon! I faced a problem with HealthShare complete transfer to another PC. I have on the old computer a lot of interesting developments and test projects, including widgets, developments on DeepSee and other stuff. Would you please describe the details how one HealthShare installation can be correctly transferred to another PC. And that this should be done.

NewBie's Corner Session 3 More Read and Write commands & Multiple commands
Welcome to NewBie's Corner, a weekly or biweekly post covering basic Caché Material.
Click on the Caché Cube in your system tray and select Terminal to try out the commands.
Write command with carriage return and line feed
When the exclamation point "!" is inserted after a Write command, a carriage return and line feed combination is produced. Note in this example, that a comma separates the exclamation point from the variable "X".

InterSystems Data Platform includes utilities and tools for system monitoring and alerting, however System Administrators new to solutions built on the InterSystems Data Platform (a.k.a Caché) need to know where to start and what to configure.
This guide shows the path to a minimum monitoring and alerting solution using references from online documentation and developer community posts to show you how to enable and configure the following;
Caché Monitor: Scans the console log and sends emails alerts.
System Monitor: Monitors system status and resources, generating notifications (alerts and warnings) based on fixed parameters and also tracks overall system health.
Health Monitor: Samples key system and user-defined metrics and compares them to user-configurable parameters and established normal values, generating notifications when samples exceed applicable or learned thresholds.
History Monitor: Maintains a historical database of performance and system usage metrics.
pButtons: Operating system and Caché metrics collection scheduled daily.
Remember this guide is a minimum configuration, the included tools are flexible and extensible so more functionality is available when needed. This guide skips through the documentation to get you up and going. You will need to dive deeper into the documentation to get the most out of the monitoring tools, in the meantime, think of this as a set of cheat sheets to get up and running.
