I am wondering about upgrading our Healthshare mirrored environment to the latest release. Has anyone upgraded recently to what version and what kind of effort was put into it. I am thinking it will take 2 analysts full time for 3 months. Am I out of the ball park on this estimate? We have bout 600 operations, Processes and services. What are some of the benefits we get from upgrading and what are some of the problems you ran into during the upgrade? Any information you have to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I'm having trouble with a vb6 application attempting to connect to a Cache 2017 release. It uses the older Cacheobject.dll instead of ActiveX. The application currently works with a 2010 release of Cache. Is Cacheobject.dll supported in later releases?
I looked through documentation and posts and did not find an answer.
Thanks in advance for any response.

Project related quality assurance efforts have revealed a number of concerns for the current release of 2017.1.0 and 2017.1.1 on all OpenVMS platforms. In certain situations, the impact can be severe. InterSystems will address these issues with the upcoming 2017.1.2 release, and in the meantime, will remove all 2017.1.x kits for OpenVMS from our Download Servers. If you have immediate needs correcting existing deployments of this version, please contact the InterSystems WRC (support@intersystems.com).

July 27, 2017 – Alert: Linux Defects Can Corrupt Mirror Copies of Journal Files
InterSystems has encountered defects in Linux which can corrupt copies of journal files that are generated on a mirror backup or async member; this occurs only in certain specific configurations. The original mirror journal file created on the primary member is not affected.
The risk is only exposed in Caché, Ensemble, and HealthShare distributions beginning with version 2017.1.0. The risk only exists on Linux and only if a backup or async mirror member is configured to use the rtkaio library.
I am pleased to announce the Maintenance Release of HealthShare Health Connect v15.021 on data platforms 2016.1.4
This contains the HealthShare module Core: 15.021.8253
The version number for this kit is 2016.1.4HS.8253.0
The platform list is the same as for HealthShare Health Connect v15.02 for 2016.1.3. You can get details from the Supported Platforms document.
June 26, 2017 – Alert: Data Corruption with Mixed Endian Mirror Shadowing
InterSystems has corrected a defect that may result in corruption of Unicode data on a shadow system whose source is an async mirror member.
This defect affects all currently released Caché, Ensemble, and HealthShare distributions beginning with version 2012.2.0. All platforms and operating systems are affected.
In order to be exposed to the risk the configuration must include mirror primary and async members, and a shadow of the async member.
InterSystems is pleased to announce the availability of the Caché and Ensemble 2016.1.4 maintenance releases.
For a complete list of the corrections, please review the release notes.
Caché and Ensemble 2016.1.4 are available on the same platforms as 2016.1.3. For complete platform details, please refer to the Supported Platforms document.
Availability of HealthShare Health Connect will be announced separately.
The version number of the kits for these releases is 2016.1.4.104.0

The Cogs.JsonClass library is now available in the Cogs project on GitHub.
https://github.com/SeanConnelly/Cogs
Please see the README and the /docs folder on how to use the class.
Overview
The Cogs.JsonClass class provides a one step serialisation and deserialisation to and from Caché registered and persistent classes. It is not dependent on any other code and should be compatible with older versions of Caché.
The unit tests have been included in the update, but until I release the dependent Touchstone unit test solution it won't be possible to run these tests.
InterSystems is pleased to announce the availability of the following maintenance releases:
Caché and Ensemble are available on the same platforms as 2017.1.0, except as noted below

This is a free upgrade to users already holding an activation key. For new users a free 30 day evaluation period is granted upon installation.

It's almost a year since I have published a series of articles explaining how to configure Cache instance as a client / resource server / authorization server. By that time, the implementation of OAuth 2.0 was still a pre-release software.
With the advent of Cache version 2017.1 a lot has changed. OAuth 2.0 implementation is fully completed and supported. Numerous new features were added (e.g. dynamic client registration) - see release notes here for full details - and configuration pages have been redesigned to a great extent as well.
