We need a web-based SQL tool to connect to Ensemble/Cache, that will offer more functionality than what the Management Portal offers. It needs to be web based, so that we can host it on a machine that has connectivity to the server via the superserver port. We (the devs and support) only have browser access to the environment via Remote Desktops, hence the requirement.
Has anyone gotten OmniDB to connect to Ensemble/Cache? If so, can you please advise on how to configure it?
Any other suggestions for such a tool are also welcome.
i need help to access to a Global like ^name over ODBC (SQL) i will visit this global in a loop from a php site. It a access over SQL or ODBC possible?
I am trying to set up a sensor in PRTG to connect to Cache, specifically the ens_util.log, so that I can have a live feed of my error count. I am having trouble getting the sensor to log in to Cache. Has anyone had any luck getting PRTG to connect on the database level? Thanks!
I'm working on exporting data from an Intersystems Cache database through the Cache ODBC Driver. There is a particular table that is giving me an error message. The ODBC Driver crashes and reports an error from the Cache system. I think I was able to trace down where the error is coming from, but I do not know how to debug or fix the error.
The table I am trying to extract is called SEDMIHP.
Where can i get the latest odbc providers from SQL Server 2012/2016?
I see some posts on line to an ftp site out there but I am unsuccessful at getting access to it. I have a version loaded on my server but get errors when querying cache'.
"[Cache ODBC][State : 22005][Native Code 22005]"
Any help would be appreciated.
the one we have might be version 2014.01.05851 64 bit (would that make sense?)
I have established an ODBC connection with our client based on credentials they provided. The test connection was successful and after using the Link Table wizard I can now see the client's tables and properties. However when we try to execute a query in IRIS we are getting error code -226. I'm trying to determine if this could be just a simple setting problem in IRIS or something with the client.
We have tried with PostgreSQL as well as with TSQL. Same result for each.

I'm trying to extract data from an IRIS database into SQL server with SSIS using the ODBC driver: InterSystems ODBC35 (ODBC-2023.1.0.229.0-win_x64.exe)
I have Unicode turned off in the ODBC settings. I'm getting strange results - with some tables the SSIS ODBC connector will work but the ADO.net connector - using the same ODBC driver will. For other tables it's the other way round. The ADO.net sees the data as unicode and won't allow me to insert it into a non unicode table but ODBC will be fine.
I get the following error when I am trying to create a linked server connection via MS OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers in MS SQL Server Management Studio. The message I get is:
The OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "IRIS" reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error. Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "IRIS". (Framework Microsoft SqlClient Data Provider)
I am tasked with using CACHE to insert data retrieved from a CACHE data base and insert it into an sql database. The columns in the sql table that I am trying to insert data into have names that contain underscores such as "ACCESSION_DATE" I found a utility in CACHE to connect to the sql data base and perform inserts. I have the data I need to insert. I need to pass the data into the sql utility referencing the column names.
I tried using indirection to set the data into underscored variables, but that isn't allowed in cache object script.
I got a quick answer from this forum yesterday so I'm going to try my luck again today! I've hit an error in another table when trying to extract through the Cache ODBC driver, but this one gives me less details and I'm struggling to pinpoint what might be causing the error.
The table I am trying to extract is called REF_TABLE_ONE.
While I can query the HL7 message class EnsLib.HL7.Message (EnsLib_HL7.Message for SQL) to my heart's content in the SQL Shell or the Management Portal's SQL page, I can't seem to SELECT anything other than ID/%Id from an ADO/ODBC client. Properties such as TimeCreated, Name, MessageTypeCategory, etc. all seem to prevent the query from ever completing EXCEPT when I provide the ID as part of the WHERE criteria.
This works fine in the Management Portal and Shell:
Is there any information regarding using Cache ODBC DSN's to connect to SAP Crystal Server 2020? We have added all the necessary DSN on the server, and yet when running reports to access the required ODBC connections, we cannot seem to get the connections to establish.
A client recently upgraded from Cache2010 to Cache2017 and now reports that for certain tables, WinSQL does not show the indices which were previously visible in Cache2010. Has anyone heard of this type of behavior before? Is there a remedy or some change which needs to be made to the table definitions? Thanks.
Hi, I would like to read a row out of an external SQL table and reference the returned results directly from my cache class. I've set up a link table and a SQL gateway connection. but I'm not real sure how to use them in COS. Anyone have examples out there, or some assistance? Thank you.
I have generated a class using the linked procedure wizard however I can't get it to work if the datatype of one of the parameters is VARCHAR(MAX). It works fine if I change it to say VARCHAR(500) and rerun the stored procedure wizard.
I get the following error returned.:
ErrorMsg: SQLState: (07002) NativeError: [0] Message: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]COUNT field incorrect or syntax error
I have a SQL query that I want to run against MS SQL from cache ensemble using the SQL outbound adapter. If I run this query direct from MS SQL Studio it take about 7 seconds MAX and returns about half a million rows. The row only contains one column it is a number all same size and if I run this query in the production in ensemble it takes for ever the production finishes without getting the response back. The same query run in cache outside the ensemble environment writing results to a file it returns results taking about 3minutes to complete.
I am a newbie who is trying to learn how to set up a basic connection to Iris using a node js application. I am astounded at the lack of documentation there is on how to do this and even more concerning there are a few errors within the documentation. For example I am on the Native API application within the below link.
It would be convenient to be able to fetch the whole query result in one operation instead of looping through every row. A fetch_all() method or something similar would provide this functionality I guess. Is there a reason why this is not implemented?
Hi All,
I tried to connect Crystal report with Cache 5.0 Its Show Crystal Report error as "The report you requested requires further information."
How to resolve the issue in C#.
I have a rights problem when giving a user permission to perform some select queries on particular tables. So I have created a user with the following rights.
So this all works well. No problem so far. But the customer is using a program where you can easily build visually the query by selecting the table, choose the right colums etc. So the problem we have is when I give the user the Role %All the tables are shown.
