InterSystems ObjectScript is a scripting language to operate with data using any data model of InterSystems Data Platform (Objects, Relational, Key-Value, Document, Globals) and to develop business logic for serverside applications on InterSystems Data Platform.
Throughout the forum, I find examples of using the method getSegmentByIndex to get the segment as I loop through the HL7 message segments.
Today I spent way too long trying to figure out why I could not modify the segment with this same method. I reached out to my more experienced team and I showed where I got the base code from what I was doing, but I myself could not find the documentation of the method.
I have a Task that I am trying to write the output to a file. How do I check for if the Output File has been included in the Task Schedule, so I can direct my output of my class to that output file?
Everytime I try to send a POST FHIR bundle I'm getting the following response: 404 Not Found. I'm not really sure why, although it works fine with a GET!

I have a business process that adds data to a global variable on receipt of an HL7 message, and a scheduled task that executes a class method defined within the same business process that removes data from the same global variable. With this in mind it makes sense to consider concurrency and therefore make use of the LOCK command.
My first question is whether this is actually necessary?
I inherited some legacy MUMPS / ObjectScript code. A code review identified an exclusive NEW and that is not allowed per our coding standards.

I'm sure I've seen this issue reported before, but a search hasn't turned it up.
This appears to happen randomly, but once it starts it doesn't seem to stop ... at least for a while. I attempt to compile a class and compilation fails but produces no error explaining why. Here's an example:

The Business Process is created with BPL, and objects are stored in BP context. When I execute this Process, in the 3rd point the object obtained in first transformation doesn't exist. It's empty.

I'm trying to add another segment to an HL7 MDM message. More specifically OBXgrp(1).OBX. The addition itself works,. When I look at the message in the trace, the segment with the content can be seen. However, it is not displayed as an OBX segment.

Is there a generic process for "walking" the structure of a virtual document - eg an HL7 message (EnsLib.HL7.Message) or an XML document (EnsLib.EDI.XML.Document).
At least we'd want to be able to visit all "nodes" (HL7 fields or sub-fields, XML nodes) in the virtual document and be able to work out/generate the Property Path (so we could call "GetValueAt").
We can just about come up with something generic for HL7, since it only nests down to 4 levels within each segment, though we're using numeric Property Path's at that point rather than symbolic ones (MSH:1.3 etc).
Is there a programmatic way (in ObjectScript) to determine if a string is an SQL reserved word (aside from using embedded SQL to try to name a property with that string and look for the error :-))?
I have an IRIS persistent class with a %Stream property whose value is a JSON object. I'd like to use a SQL trigger to pull some value out of the JSON and persist it in another property, for easy querying and indexing. See below for a minimal example:

I am trying to replicate a REST call that I am able to make via a Postman call within a EnsLib.REST.GenericOperation.
It's been a while since I have messed around with trying to make external REST calls. When I execute my REST call, tSC is coming back with an error and I am trying to pinpoint why. I tried turning on ISCLOG = 5 but when calling the REST Operation from the Testing tool it is not logging anything to the ISC log.

I have a repeatable field within HL7 that I want to create a List from. Do I have to initialize the List by using $LB, or can I just use $LI to keep adding on to the end of the list as it is looping through the field?
I'm currently looking at a process where we're utilising the Class Ens.StreamContainer, and was looking to do some deletions outside of any purge routines.
Having been burned before, I wanted to make sure that deleting the container also deletes the contents within.
From looking in the class, the %OnDelete ClassMethod appears to be removing an index from a search table and nothing more.
I have the need to query an external database and write the result set/snapshot to an internal %Persistent [ DdlAllowed ] table that I built. I have built inbound SQL Services before and write them externally to replace SSIS jobs, but how would querying a database via a Service and writing the data to an internal table work?
Can I just take the inbound query structure and write it to the class file of the internal table in a DTL? If so, what would be the Target? Or does this need to be done within a BPL as a Code block?
