I have created a FHIR endpoint and send the FHIR resource to FHIR Interoperability production class which is HS.FHIRServer.Interop.Service through the the created endpoint(/r4). I can able to see/get the HS.SDA3.QuickStream(It use CacheTemp.HS.Stream temporary global) on the fly(In between the process). I'm unable to get the FHIR resource from the QuickStream once the process completed. Is this HS.SDA3.QuickStream is wiped out from the system once process completed?

Hi Developers!

InterSystems FHIR contest has been started and in this post, I want to introduce several topics you may find interesting and use to build FHIR applications with InterSystems IRIS for Health.

Amongst them are:

  • a frontend mobile or web app for FHIR server FHIR REST API or SQL;
  • Backend apps to perform complex queries and maintain rules;
  • work with different HL7 data standards.

See the details below.

Based on a great sample and workshop built by @Luis Angel Pérez Ramos (see related articles and related Open Exchange app), which included a local InterSystems IRIS for Health container (and desired setup), this sample presented here, adapted the workshop for using the InterSystems Cloud FHIR Server, and it's related setup.

We have now released a new learning path to get you started with FHIR: Building Basic FHIR Integrations with InterSystems IRIS for Health. In this path, you'll learn the basics of FHIR, how to set up FHIR endpoints in InterSystems IRIS for Health, consume data into the FHIR repository and transform FHIR data, manage FHIR APIs with InterSystems API Manager, and query for FHIR resources using a client application.

Hi Developers!

Here're the technology bonuses for the FHIR programming contest that will give you extra points in the voting:

  • FHIR Server REST API usage
  • The usage of SQL Schema of FHIR Resources
  • Healthcare standards data transformation
  • Docker container usage

See the details below.

When building a bundle from legacy data, I (and others) wanted to be able to control whether or not the resources were generated with a FHIR Request Method of PUT instead of the hard coded POST. I have extended the two classes responsible for transforming SDA to FHIR in an Interoperability Production to accomodate a setting that lets the user control the Request Method.

Google has one intersting tool named Data Studio. This tool allows creating some interactive dashboards, based on your data, available from the internet. It already offers hundreds of connectors to any sort of data developed by the community. As well as some amount of community developed visualizing. And most importantly, Google offers a way to develop your own connector to your data.

FHIRaaS provides a REST API, and it's available from the internet. So I've decided to try to create some basic report on data stored there. And in the end, I got this.

Hi,

Currently I am working to develop smart on FHIR app with FHIRaas with the help of fhirclient.js and facing one issue that .well-known/smart-configuration is raising following error "This endpoint does not have SMART on FHIR capabilities defined" Below snapshot is for reference:

Looking forward to resolve the above issue or workaround

Thanks

I have started working on utilizing Epic on FHIR about a month ago.

Creating a Public Private Key Pair

mkdir /home/ec2-user/path_to_key
openssl genrsa -out ./path_to_key/privatekey.pem 2048

For backend apps, you can export the public key to a base64 encoded X.509 certificate named publickey509.pem using this command...

Overview

In our previous post, we discussed the motivation for developing a chatbot agent with access to FHIR resources. In this post, we will dive into the high-level design aspects of integrating a Streamlit-based chat interface with a Java SpringBoot backend, and enabling a LangChain agent with access to FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) via APIs.

Take part in the FHIR R5 Quality Review!

Hello Community,

As you may know, the next release FHIR R5 is currently published in "beta". Right now, it is undergoing a quality review. And we'd like to invite YOU to participate in this process!

Your task, if you wish to accept it 😉, is to check text descriptions, copy editing, and grammar. To facilitate this quality review, ClinFHIR is being used, which is a web tool used for developer education on FHIR and to help developers to visualize FHIR data and to plan out the building of FHIR applications. For instructions on how to do the quality review of FHIR R5 read this short document. The application you will use to do the quality review is here.

This is how ClinFHIR looks in action for this FHIR R5 Quality Review:

What is clinFHIR?

clinFHIR is a web application that has been developed pretty much over the same time as FHIR has.

Originally developed to help clinicians visualize FHIR (hence the ‘clin’ in the name) it has become more widely used by the FHIR community for learning FHIR and assisting with design. It is maintained by David Hay - one of the FHIR Management Group co-chairs with support from InterSystems, which is much appreciated!

There are 4 modules that may be of interest to participants in the upcoming Interoperability contest.

  • The Patient viewer for looking at an individual patients records
  • Server Query which makes RESTful API calls against a FHIR server displaying the result in different formats
  • Bundle Visualizer which will display the contents of a bundle
  • Graph Builder which allows you to build graphs of interconnected resources.

I’ve created a longer post on google docs that goes into a little more details of these modules, with links to other resources such as my blog and the R4 Specification and R5 FHIR specification. I’ll be enhancing that over time - feel free to comment.

A note with regard to FHIR versions. The latest version is R5 (release 5), though many in the community still use R4. In most cases, if you're not sure then use R4. If you're not sure which version a FHIR Server supports, examine its CapabilityStatement which you can get from the server endpoint [host]/metadata

I should also point out that clinFHIR doesn’t currently use SSL. It is on the roadmap, but there are a few issues to work through. The consequence of this is that if you enter ‘clinfhir.com' into the browser, it may not find it. You sometimes have to specify http://clinfhir.com/ .

If you need further assistance, I would alway recommend using the FHIR chat, and if your question / comment / suggestion is related to clinFHIR then there’s a specific stream there.

We return to the attack with our EMPI!

In previous articles we have seen how to configure and customize our EMPI, we have seen how we can include new patients in our system through HL7 messaging, but of course, not everything is HL7 v.2 in this life! How could we configure our EMPI instance to work with FHIR messaging?

Hi, I am glad to announce another submission to OpenExchange and the current contest, the FHIR Pseudonymization Proxy. The FHIR Pseudonymization Proxy adds a transparent pseudonymization layer to any existing FHIR server, enabling clients to perform queries on the FHIR server – which may contain personal identifying information – and receive an on-the-fly pseudonymized version of the data.
