I know this has been requested before, but it's really annoying, especially in the Developer Community.

Here is my typical workflow:

1. Click "Developer Community" forum

2. Click "Post question".

3. Select "Developer Community" in Group dropdown.

4. Select "Developer Community" in Related Topic dropdown.

Yes, 3 out of 4 steps to post a new question here require me to select the same thing. It's frustrating. Here I go again!

I know this has been suggested before but I wanted to bring it up again.

It would be very nice if we could "accept" an answer to our questions which would result in the question showing "answered" in the index and possibly move the "accepted answer" to the top of the answer chain.

Modify search summary view

Would it be possible to include more lines, and maybe even replace line breaks with a space, to allow you to view the posts that are made more efficiently?

For example, I clicked on Caché and noticed that almost everyone began with "Hi", which ended up not really allowing you to review any of the posts before diving deeper.

Modify search feature

I am unsure why but the search feature does not allow you to begin your search with a period, please have this modified.

For example, I was not able to search for ".obj".

I think DC would be a great area to get feedback from current or future users of our technology about what new features they would like to see in our products and let them vote the different proposals. Open discussions/suggestions with no commitment on IS side to be done but sure there would be lot of good ideas to consider by our product managers and development.

Here in Community I use the WYSIWYG Text format control to answer questions and other quick text entries.

But for longer posts when I want formatting or if I am building incrementally over several days I use the Plain text (supports markdown) control because it's quicker and easier to post an article I have written offline. In this post I share my workflow and a set of tools to publish long read posts.

Hello,

I think it will be very useful to add the following information about community members:

-Full Name (that is the only thing we see today)

-Company

-Title

-[Optional] Areas of interests/expertise

This information should help the community members evaluate the credibility of posts and responses.

Thanks,

Asaf

In Subscriptions > Overview > I checked Digest Mode, which is defined as:

"Merges your notifications into a single email, sent at the interval you specify. "

Under Preferences I set the Send Interval to be Daily.

I receive a couple dozen emails each day. They all have a subject of "Subscription Digest for..."

Each email only contains a single item, so it doesn't appear to be a "digest."

It clearly is coming more than once a day, so doesn't appear to be following the set Send Interval.

Is this a bug or am I misunderstanding the settings?

Video timeout

I was just watching a video - Clinical Document Architecture and Document Creation - Videos An Introduction to CDA - from Australia (browser, Firefox). The video started and played fine for 8m 49s, then stopped with the following message: Could not download the video
Error code: PLAYER_ERR_TIMEOUT.

as described in How to post an article from Word or Google Docs, you can use the Paste from Word button to paste content you have copied from a Word or Google Docs document into a Developer Community post.

this worked well for me pasting from Word 10 documents, and retained most (though not all) of my Word formatting. i did have one problem, however, and wanted to pass on my workaround.

@Mike Kadow and I are both having this issue.

When editing a post and trying to insert a link, I use the Internal link type to link to a different post. I am able to search for the page and get the page name to show up in the dialog box, but then the "ok" button is non-responsive. I can cancel properly. If I change the link type to URL and paste in the full URL of the page, I can click "ok" and it will save the link.

Hi, Community!

We want to introduce tag Tips & tricks.

It's not a snippet sometimes, but some small piece of best practice and useful experience.

Please vote if you think it makes sense and we need this tag and we'll introduce it as the first level tag in taxonomy.

Bug: Next page not working

Hello Community,

on the intersystems-data-platform-blog group as well as the developer-community-feedback group are more articles referenced than shown on the first page. But it is not possible to see further articles when going to the next page. After the click the page shows 'no content found' and the back button does not work anymore.
This behaviour can be tricked adding '?page=1' after the url. On the main page community.intersystems.com the next page buttons work.

Thanks,
Thomas

I have just received an email digest for a post I submitted as someone has added an answer but it was not clear from the digest why I had received the digest or what had changed.

1) When reading the digest in Outlook it has poor layout and style

Main text is light green on white background - poor contrast

2) Not clear what has changed, ie what should I do as a result of getting this email

Would prefer something like
