Caché

I am looking for a solution with Ensemble to talk to a old NTLM based SOAP Service. Does anyone has done this before?

We have the webservice calls working via SOAPUI but we are looking how we can make it work with Ensemble.

Is there a ready to use Outbound Adapter for NTLM ?

Thx.

A customer is using Caché online backups and needs to automatically purge the cbk files with a scheduled task.

This is a wheel has been reinvented uncountable times already and I know somebody out there has a well written, extremely robust version that has already stood the test of time.

Does anyone have a nice routine/class/task for purging old Caché backup files?

All responses are appreciated.  I am new to both scripting and CACHE so please bear with me.  I am setting up a nightly backup script for freezing cache then backing it up and then thawing it back out.  Currently when I enter the freeze command I am getting a response of access denied even though my id has %all access.  I've tried passing the userid/password as a parameter in the externalfreeze command and passing it from a file.  I've used my id and lastly I used the _system id in the file.  What ID should I use for this or am I passing it wrong?

sample 1:  ..\bin\cache -s. -u%%sys ##class(backup.General).externalfreeze() <c:\temp\login.scr

sample 2:  ..\bin\cache -s. -u%%sys ##class(backup.General).externalfreeze(username="?????",password="???????")

..\bin

Hello community!

At the global summit in Phoenix, we (Lite Solutions) will be presenting a tool performing static code analysis on ObjectScript source files. You can see it in action at this URL:

https://demo.cachequality.com

Technically, the tool is a language plugin over SonarQube (http://sonarqube.org) and consists of three main parts:

  • parsing the language,
  • collecting metrics,
  • collecting issues.

The third point is where we kindly request for feedback.

Explanation: issues are the result of rules being triggered by inspecting the source files. But while we do have some experience with the language, this experience is too "fresh" for us to accurately estimate the severity/time to fix of such issues. The list of rules, along with their severity and time to fix can be found here

Can I connect to Cache using SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) and view schemas and build queries as I do for SQL Server?

If yes, step-by-step instructions for setting up the connection would be greatly appreciated.

I googled the topic but didn't find any results that were on target.

Thanks,

Christian Bahnsen

Is there something in Cache that is equivalent to partitioning a table in Oracle? I'm trying to break some big tables into groups so that the most frequently accessed data is faster to retrieve.

Here is some information on this concept from Oracle.

https://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b32024/partition.htm

I was curious if application partners were developing their own task managers for scheduling background tasks, or using the built in task schedule that is part of the Cache platform.

For those that are using the Cache task manager, what has been your method for distributing default tasks that your application needs during initial install as well as upgrades?  Are you distributing an export of the %SYS.Task object, or perhaps you are distributing an installation script that adds a task to the task scheduler when it is first run?

So just this morning we started to get this error from all of our SQL-client based tools that connect to our Caché SQL via ODBC:

[%msg: <Error instantiating cached query class in Prepare(): <METHOD DOES NOT EXIST>Prepare+41^%SYS.SQLSRV *%New,%sqlcq>] (State:S1000, Native Code: 190)]

No queries work... any help? stumped over here.

Hi!

I am not system admin. But it used to be very simple to install CSP Gateway on an apache system on Linux with Apache installed. I used to run the CSP Gateway installation program and after it was done, all I had to do was fine tune some configurations on CSP Gateway portal on http://<ip>/csp/bin/Systems/Module.cxw and I was up and running.

Prmoetheus is a really good to combine measures, and export them in graphical dashboards

https://prometheus.io/

http://grafana.org/

I would like to write some a caché exporter for Prometheus, that will allow to expose some metrics of the database, or even some metrics of my own

Did anyone already tried ?

Thank for the answer

Hello,
I have a list of files on disk.
Each record is the fully qualified UNC path and filename.
I would like to send these files to the end users default printer as a document.
I have attempted to build a html page using document.write statements and print using printWindow.print(); command.

I think there must be a better way to send a series of files to the windows print spooler.
I would welcome any and all input.

When working with a large query executed though an ODBC connection what is the best way to allow the paging of the results at the client side.  I have tried some methods using %VID and similar methods, but these really don't seem to work as the value returned is related to the ID of the data and not the position in the results set.  What would be ideal is if the value seen in the management portal when you check of "Row Number" was available to external queries through ODBC.  I have not seen a way to return this however.   This would be similar to SQL server Last n and Skip n capabilities.

Hi All,

I am new to this technology and I have installed the trial version of cache 2016.1 with Normal security.

I was trying to develop the sample cinema application and mean while when I tried to view the csp webpage, it opens the browser and ask for login after logging in it shows Service Unavailable error instead of preview of webpage.

Could you guys suggest an answer to resolve this issue.
