I have two instances of IRIS, one is Production and another one is Staging (both managed by Docker) and I want to set up a full daily recover of the Staging server from a full backup of the Production server. I know how to do this manually using the DBREST utility, as well as how to make a copy of the database by making a full copy of the durable directory (however this option requires a full stop of the Production-database). What is the best way to automatically restore all databases from a full backup using scripting?

Hello,

I'm trying to connect a Python backend application to an InterSystems IRIS Community Edition instance running in a Docker container on an AWS EC2 instance. I'm facing persistent connection issues and an SSL Error despite the Superserver apparently having SSL disabled. I'm hoping for some insight into what might be causing this contradictory behavior.

My Setup:

I'm trying to gather more data for one of my namespaces so I can do some analysis. However when I run .BuildIndex() nothing populates in the resulting SQL table. I've tried deleting the class and reimporting and compiling and still nothing. I feel like I'm doing something OBVIOUS that's wrong but I can't quite figure out what it is. Here's what I'm doing (Customer name redacted)

Hola amigo! 😊 Cómo estás hoy,

I would like to share a small part of my learnings from my first ever official project: POS/EDC machine integration with our billing system. This was an exciting challenge where I got hands-on experience working with APIs and vendors.

How does a Payment Machine actually work?

It's simple, start by initiating/creating a transaction, then retrieve its payment status.

Here, initiate/create refers to POST method and Retrieve refers to GET.

Hi,

I'm using the iris for health community edition and I cannot seem to get the FHIR server configuration UI to show up. I was able to create a FHIR server programaticlly but none of the user interface features that the installation guide talks about are available. Once I was created the server I was able to see a Bulk FHIR Coordinator in the management portal, ut that's it. Are the UI features not available in the community edition or do they need to be enabled somehow?

IKO Helm Status: WFH

Here is an option for your headspace if you are designing an multi-cluster architecture and the Operator is an FTE to the design. You can run the Operator from a central Kubernetes cluster (A), and point it to another Kubernetes cluster (B), so that when the apply an IrisCluster to B the Operator works remotely on A and plans the cluster accordingly on B. This design keeps some resource heat off the actual workload cluster, spares us some serviceaccounts/rbac and gives us only one operator deployment to worry about so we can concentrate on the IRIS workloads.

Hi Team,

Can I please check if anyone has built a simple web interface for maintaining custom SQL lookup class.

We have a simple persistent class in HealthShare which is used for storing Pathology test codes. Test codes in this lookup class is used for message filtering and applying additional logic when processing pathology results/orders.

With the rapid adoption of telemedicine, remote consultations, and digital dictation, healthcare professionals are communicating more through voice than ever before. Patients engaging in virtual conversations generate vast amounts of unstructured audio data, so how can clinicians or administrators search and extract information from hours of voice recordings?

Catching WorkQueue Errors

I'm trying to catch some WorkQueue errors that are happening on 2019 but not on more recent versions.

I'm getting an error when trying to call a class method via a workQueue. It functions properly in 2024.1. When calling the method, it immediately errors. I have logging at the top of the method that never gets set.

The error being returned by Iris is simply an "ERROR #5039: An error occurred while calling function s %sc=##class(|"NS"|Path.To.Class).ClassMethod(.%p1,.%p2)"

The parameter counts match and are appropriate for the method.

Hi Community!

We have great news for those of you who are interested in what's happening at the InterSystems Ready 2025 but couldn't attend in person. All the keynotes are being streamed! Moreover, you can watch them afterwards if they happen at an inopportune time.

Keynotes from Day 1 are already ready 😉

Why do these clauses affect SQL performance?

select ID from some_table where row_status in ('I','U') order by ID limit 5 - makes the query infinite
select top 10 ID from some_table where row_status in ('I','U') order by ID - the same
select ID from some_table where row_status in ('I','U') order by ID - is fast

Actually there are no rows in the table having row_status 'I' or 'U'.

I asked Gemini and it recommended me rewrite the query as

Manifest or Class?

I have the unfortunate job of installing IRIS and Healthshare (real Healthshare not Healthconnect) on 16 difference instances (tst, stg, prd with mirrors etc). the Dev was set up manually (mostly by me).

So I decided to create a class that installed the db's, namespaces, mappings and HSREGISTRY options , i then decided an installer manifest was a better idea, I keep changing my mind on which!. I understanding manifest is "typically" for dockers to create the environment but have seen ISC use them for creating new setups aswell (outside docker)

Import CSV into CACHÉ

Here's a practical example of how to import data from a CSV file into InterSystems CACHÉ using ObjectScript
Assuming your CSV file is simple (e.g., comma-separated, with headers), you can use %Stream.FileCharacter to read it line by line and parse the data.

ClassMethod ImportCSV(filePath As %String) As %Status {
Set stream = ##class(%Stream.FileCharacter).%New()
Set sc = stream.LinkToFile(filePath)
If 'sc Quit sc
