Hello,

as you can see in title my problem is with file ccontrol. I want to install whole Ensemble with Manifest if on machine wouldn't be any, or if I somehow find out instance of Ensemble I want to only use settings from included Manifest. I read that I can use file ccontrol to solve this task.

So can someone said me, how to work with ccontrol, is there some variable or function which returns me somethig? I have read some parts of documentation about ccontrol, but nothing help me so much, so you can give me link to part in documentation, where is this desribed.

DeepSee security issue

Hey Guys,

Have enabled DeepSee on my cache db via 

Do EnableDeepSee^%SYS.cspServer(0)

I have created user with access to a profile with all the %Deep_See options (%DeepSee_Admin, %DeepSee_Analyzer etc etc) as well as %All. I have also added %All to unknownuser

When click the DeepSee page and choose a namespace Architect, Analyzer, Reporting Data Definition and Reporting Builder are all greyed out with 'you do not have privilege to view this page

Hi,
I had written one .net service for excel validation , after validation the data will be inserted in DB. I am getting value from an outbound message but the values are not inserting in DB. i have two classes one is for reading the value from excel and convert that into ensemble objects, here i am getting value. Another class for inserting the values from the ensemble objects but here i given a global variable for checking . It's shows global variable does not exist. I don't why it's not entering to 2nd class. Please give me the step by step explanation

upload file to FTP

Hi

I am trying to upload a file to a ftp site using following code.
Problem is file is getting upload but there is no data. Can you plz advise where I am getting lost.
Also my files are with big data, 2+ GB, as far as know this ftp upload will not effect on my cache.dat size. Plz correct if my understanding is not correct.

Hi,

somehow my installation on win10 canceled during finish. "Installation of Caché finished" showed up for 20 minutes and canceled with an error I didn't saved.

Every file and service was installed but never registered as successfull installation. Now I try to reinstall it but the installer shows me everytime "Another installation is already in progress. Please finish the second installation first".

The unfinished installation is broken. I can't startup Caché from launcher. So I deleted everything in c:/intersystems

I want to do ordering dynamically in Query. I mean to say that order by value will not be hard coded in query, it will be passed in parameter.

I have tried to it following way, but it is not working for me. Can you please advise me how can I achieve it?

In below code, Order by :objSearch.SortingField is not working.

x12 substring manipulation

How do I manipulate a string in Ensemble DTL (X12 document) to extract a string starting from the right, or end, of the string?

I need to have 10 digit phone numbers, however some of the source data records include the "1" for the long distance dialing and I need to exclude this.

I have tried using Right(), SubStr(), and even SubString(string,*,-10) but it will not compile.

I find it hard to believe that Ensemble does not have the ability to read a string from the right.

How do you search with REST

The question is pretty much in title. I'm developing a REST API, it has a search endpoint with 10 optional parameters. How do I pass them and stay RESTFul?

To ease the question a bit let's agree that:

  • all parameters are AND parameters, user can't make combos, ORs, etc. User can only provide values
  • all values are integers so I don't have to think about URL limits
  • all values are atomic
  • all conditions are about equivalency

Some options I know of:

1. URL parameters.

I was hoping for some input on the best way to deploy code to site with the following criteria:

- No source code, only compiled code to be deployed.
- Classes and Routines are part of the application.
- Data and code reside in the same database.
- Deployments might be partial updates (i.e. cannot just send a complete CACHE.DAT).

At present the idea is just to export the .obj, any suggestions?

Error SQL Select

Hello,

I am having a problem with SQL Select, the command in portal is OK, show all items, but when I use a CacheDataAdapter in VB .NET show the message 'Incorrect list format 0>=0'. What could be this message? Because is the same SQL command.

We have a SOAP web service that we call to retrieve a stream of a PDF file. The web service is written by another group in our company (not a Cache group). We are running into one issue where it seems that the PDF is too big and when it is sent to us we get this "ERROR #6301: SAX XML Parser Error: <STORE>". The stream is about 8mb. This is the first time that we have encountered this issue.

We have a WRC ticket open about this but doing some research, we found that if we increase the $ZSTORAGE then we no longer get this error when we call the web service for this 8mb file.

Hello,

I have a little problem that appears to my newest program. One of the purpose of my program is to transfer a file from a path to another one.

Another person/entity places the file into a specific file ( let's call it \\Server\) but the problem is that my service (a simple EnsLib.File.PassthroughService) takes it and places it directly into my other path. The pdf file is very big and it happens almost all the time that the size of the output file is not the same as in input and so is corrupted.

JDBC connection issue

I am using the below code in my REST service and it throws the error "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/intersys/jdbc/CacheDataSource] with root cause

Surprisingly when i am using the same code in a static main method its running perfectly.
