This community rocks.

Thank you Intersystems for being a strong partner to all of us.
I know some of my friends are now retired ( Gerd Nachtsheim *wave*) but I want to thank the whole team of Intersystems to make this year again a successful part of my life. Your products rock and I know I am a part of it next year.
God bless you all.

Question Roger Andre · May 24, 2022

Hello, my name is Roger, I work in a big hospital in Brazil, I'm new to the MUMPS area, I was given an assignment to try to stabilize our MSM/MUMPS system, we have licenses for 1200 connections, however, the MSM starts having problems when we reach about 990 connections, the terminal has a timeout, it gets stuck. Looking at the MSM settings parameters I noticed the following default settings, could this be related?

Overview

Predictable storage IO performance with low latency is vital to provide scalability and reliability for your applications. This set of benchmarks is to inform users of IRIS considering deploying applications in AWS about EBS gp3 volume performance.

Summary

  • An LVM stripe can increase IOPS and throughput beyond single EBS volume performance limits.
  • An LVM stripe lowers read latency.

The option to toggle back to the classic UI is available in the navigation bar at the top and bottom of the page.

Please let us know of any issues you encounter or general feedback you have on the page, and thank you to everyone who tried the page in its initial release and provided us with great feedback already!

Hello,

Thank you for reading this question, and thank you for your time and replies.

I was wondering which ways, tools, mechanisms, or vias would you recommend to teach to kids, teens, adults, being your sons / daughters or not; your passion or likelihood for programming and computers?

I know there are some programming free games like the following ones:

https://jaywee1115.itch.io/code-ed

https://ratking.itch.io/chipcode

Even more, there are some sites which propose you small challenges:

Starting today, we have release the new CCR view page to beta users!

As the view page contains a lot of functionality, we are giving users the ability to toggle their session between the new UI and the classic UI view pages.   Your sessions will default to the classic UI for now, but beta users will see a "View in New UI" button in the nav bar for Tier 0 and 1 CCRs:

Similarly, the new UI page will have a "View in Classic UI" button at the top:

At any time, disabling your beta user flag will return you to the Classic UI for viewing CCRs.

Hello,

First of all thanks for reading this post and thanks for replying:

I think it could be obvious or a little bit naive but I was wondering if a software developer needs as a must or should get his/her own personal laptop or computer, appart the one from their own bussiness or company?

What laptop or computer would you recommend for personal use? For general purpose: programming, leisure, surfing the net, etc.

Thanks for your replies.

Greetings.

We are ridiculously good at mastering data. The data is clean, multi-sourced, related and we only publish it with resulting levels of decay that guarantee the data is current. We chose the HL7 Reference Information Model (RIM) to land the data, and enable exchange of the data through Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®).

Hello,

Thanks for reading:

What hobbies would you recommend to balance being a professional software developer and have other activities to replenish yourself?

For example: what sports or physical excercise would you recommend? Swimming, gym, bycicle, walk?

What social activities: board games, hang out with other people?

What deep activities to bring yourself a "flow state moment"? Playing an instrument, learning to paint, watching series, play videogames, gardening, reading, playing sports...?

🔁📤📝 Thanks for your replies.

Greetings!

Hello everybody...

Have you ever wondered, noticed, or experienced the difficulty of finding new professionals with knowledge of Caché/IRIS? Where are people who ended up joining this area through contacts, who didn't exactly leave colleges with this knowledge or notion? Most of these professionals are of the old guard, with knowledge in older languages that end up being "summoned" to learn the new trends to make up for this absence in the job market. Is it just an impression, or does it actually occur around the world?

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way, or what is your recommended way to generate, or develop some kind of deep interest or even some joy, love, or excitement towards coding, programming, software developing. Specifically for people aged between 20 and 30 years old.

I am aware of some programming games like the following ones:

https://wintrmut3.itch.io/maelstromexe

https://theov.itch.io/automaton

https://importantlittlegames.itch.io/codemancer-ch-1

Also, there are some coding platforms with online exercises and/or challenges:
