Simplifying the editor

Do you think our editor has too many unused features?

I propose removing some, so it would look nice & clean!

Here's some buttons that I think we really can let go.

What do you think?

I noticed the system displays an age for each post.

Can it display the actual creation timedate stamp instead?

(Maybe this is a display option set on an individual account setting?)

Can we add the timedate stamp of the last edit so it is clear that the post was changed?

Post Duplicates

Hi, Community!

We are having some troubles with post duplicates at the moment, we are working on it.

Now when you post your message it waits until timeout and shows 404 but also publishes the article.

Hope this would be fixed ASAP.

Unable To Change Name

Hi,

I'm currently unable to change my First Name from my account page.

Although my name is Thomas, I go by Joe.

Is there a reason I'm not able to edit my displayed name?

How can I change this?

After the March 15th DC update I posted one Question (as opposed to Article). I've been used to getting notified by email no more than an hour after someone responds to a post of mine. In the case of my question, I think I only got that email when someone posted a Comment on the question. When I went to read that comment I saw that there were several Answers that had been posted many hours earlier.

I have posted my first question in "Cache" forum this morning and since then, I started receiving emails whenever a new topic is posted. I don't want to receive such emails and looked for a way to tweak for "email preferences". However, I couldn't find any such option. Can someone please tell me how I can stop emails for all the posts?

Regarding Chat box

Hi Team,

Our community is most useful for my learning. I have one concern.We need to add a chat box for discuss and interact with other developer in our community . It is most useful for maintaining the team relationship and sometime we get guidance from anyone on directly. I known already we have the chat box in global master(that chatbox just we send greetingsrelated messages only). This same one is need for our community also(All are reading articals and question on our community page).So I am asking chat box on our community page also.

Empty column on hompage

If you look at the homepage as a guest (not logged in), the third column has a header of "Knowledgeable Members", but there is no text. It is an empty column...looks like a mistake/bug/missing data

Can this be fixed or replaced?

When you're sharing some community portal content with somebody through the CP 'Share with a friend' feature, the target person recieves an email with subject '<Somebody> has shared a page with you on InterSystems Developer Community'.. Where <Somebody> is target person's name, not the person's name who has shared content.

Hi, I have been looking through the InterSystems Developer Community for awhile.

Is there any basic help on how all this stuff works?

For example:

How can I tell what posts I have already read?

What is "My Content?"

Under Connect - what is the difference between Members and Communities?

Is Favorite and Unfavorite the only two selections? How does this work?

What are Points and how do they work, the same thing with Quiz, the same thing with votes.

If this is to be a replacement for Googe Groups , you must explain this stuff!

Earning points weakness

Actually, every user recieves 1 point for each page (post) view he/she did.

Can we do the limitation for that to count only unique page views after post content changed (new comments added, new attachments, any other stuff). Because now any user can just hold F5 button and recieve 1 point for each page query that may easily break user activity stats, I think.

Trouble editing my profile

I'm trying to edit my profile but running into trouble. When I go to the Edit tab, I can see a form for editing appear and then quickly disappear and then the only option I'm left with is this:

If I try to uncheck and save this setting, it appears to save, but when I navigate back it always remains checked.

Any suggestions?

Listing type of output

Here is an idea that would make the Developer Community immensely more valuable (to me anyway)

Have the capability of getting Listing output from searches or tags or groups.

In addition, have people put titles on their answers and comments,

And having a detailed list with all the answers and comments if needed

Then being able to sort the list by date or other criteria.

Something like:

Sub1 . . . .

-answer . . .

-comment . .

-answer . . .

Subject2 . . .

-answer . . .

Subject 3 . . .

-comments . . .
