We have a very old green screen application which is currently producing PCL "documents". I want to update this to produce PDFs - are there any shortcuts / tips? I'm aware Zen Reports can allegedly do it, but I want to avoid that route if I can.
We have a need to mount remote databases using ECP, but with the Application servers mounting some of the remote databases as Read Only. The Data servers will keep them R+W as normal.
I have a problem which i think has a simple solution but which i and others haven't yet cracked. I want to display text output to a text box in monospaced font. At the moment the style sheet is shown below, I have tried various other options such as specifying a specific font such as Courier New. None of the browsers I have tried (Safari, Firefox on OSX, IE) display as monospace, although the last 2 come close. I wonder whether I need a <pre> tag, but I can't see how to do that in Zen.
I get this on some queries in some namespaces. For instance, this query:
SELECT TOP 10 SessionId, datediff(s,min(TimeCreated),max(TimeCreated)) as ResponseTime FROM ens.messageheader GROUP BY SessionId ORDER BY ResponseTime DESC
It works fine in HSBUS but in HSREG it throws the error.
Server closed communication device
Does anyone know what would cause this? Would it log something more useful somewhere?

When deciphering an error message (<MAXSTRING>main+45^LBZNSJHCACUPLB), my understanding is the error offset is 45 lines from "main". If there are "go sub" entries within this 45 lines, do you count the lines in the "go sub" section or do you do a straight count of lines ignoring the "go sub" section?
I want do to a "simple thing". Show a dynamic log of actions in the browser as we can see on Terminal. For that, I guess to make a simple CSP Page that show a new line every WRITE command is the thing I need.
But how I refresh after each WRITE?
How I can refresh the content automatically?
I made a simple CSP Page and in method OnPage I do this test:
write "Start..",! for i=1:1:10{ hang 1 write "Doing "_i,! }
Hello; we have users on the system with cache logins. They have access to a specific namespace, and no access to %SYS of course. I'd like to give each user the ability to change his own password from within our application, using Security.User.PasswordExternal. This only exists in the %SYS namespace, and the average user can't get to it.
Should I give the users access to this column in this table (column Password, table Security.Users)? What about access to the namespace? Is this possible? Has anyone done this before?
I'm doing a REST service for integration between 2 systems. The system that invokes me expects a response object where only one of its attributes changes. It could be something like this:
How do I organize a wildcard search with respect to a database search?
Example of what I am trying to do: s x=$o(^G("ABC","A*",x))
Trying to navigate through the ^G global for all occurrences of "ABC", and "A*" ("A"+wildcard) but I am new to M and don't know positively how to do this. Perhaps I don't use an "*" at all, rather; another convention altogether.
