Is there a way to have a context property be available across 2 or 3 different business processes? For example if I am setting a value in a context property within one business process and want to use the same context property in a second business process, is this possible? Is this something that can be done with the "Context Superclass"?

I am following the ESB tutorial(https://learning.intersystems.com/course/view.php?id=77) and using my local system(2014.1.5) windows 7. I click the button on SoapUI for the Weather piece (http://127.0.0.1:57774/esb/soap/Weather/GlobalWeather.asmx) and get the response of <text>ERROR <Ens>ErrBusinessDispatchNameNotRegistered: Business dispatch name 'EnsLib.SOAP.GenericService' is not registered to run</text>

checked the Event Log

Currently, when we want to write data to a file that will be viewed in Excel, we parse the data in tab deliminated format to the file and name it with .xls at the end. That is sent to end users via email. They get a warning that the data is not formatted properly (it's not really an Excel file after all) but it does display somewhat correctly as the tabs are understood (this does not work if we deliminated with commas however).

How can we format the file for Excel? If it helps to know, our Cache is on Unix so the files are sent to a Unix directory before a batch job pulls them and emails them to the correct people.

Ideas I can think of:

- Develop an Excel workbook that has an import macro that takes in the raw data (in the form of Cache globals e.g. ^("DATA") = "other | data") or flat file (CSV or tab?) and formats it, totals it, organizes it in the end user's desired way

I'm using callin to get global values.

Here's a simple function to get string value from global and return it:

int GetGlobalStr(char *global, CACHE_EXSTRP result)
{
    int push = CACHEPUSHGLOBAL(strlen(global), global);

    // narg Number of subscript expressions pushed onto the argument stack.
    int narg = 0;

    // flag - Indicates behavior when global reference is undefined:
    // 0 — returns CACHE_ERUNDEF
    // 1 — returns CACHE_SUCCESS but the return value is an empty string.
    int flag = 1;

    int get = CACHEGLOBALGET(narg, flag);

    int pop = CACHEPOPEXSTR(result);

    return ZF_SUCCESS;
}

I get global value in result successfully. However I need to iterate over $lb. How can I do that?

I have a lot of string properties, which need custom but similar Getters and Setters.

Currently I'm generating Getter and Setter in class generation code but that expands class definition.

Is there a way to specify custom datatype which would generate custom getters and setters?

First time post, also a new Cache developer, hence the <Beginner> tag.

If our data has Predefined terms in a dictionary, and a user can add terms on their own, can the terms exist in different tables?

Lets call the tables "Terms" and the user data in "UserTerms".

If a third class definition has a property of "Term" can it not be either Terms or UserTerms?

I'm leaning towards using a Subclass strategy where the pseudo "Parent" (forgive me) is Dictionary.Term and the child is along the lines of Dictionary.Term.User

Dictionary.Term.User can inherit from Dictionary.Term and this is stated in the Docs "If class B inherits from class A, you can use an instance of class B in any location where you can use an instance of class A."

This applies to properties of a class correct? Not just methods

This is my first post, I have only been using Healthshare for a year.

We support multiple Healthshare test and development environments. We are trying to come up with the best solution for building an environment from scratch, as well as incremental updates. I am interested in hearing the pros and cons between using the Ensemble -> Export Production feature versus creating custom classes to do the install and setup

I successfully got everything in this guide to work: https://community.intersystems.com/post/ensemble-rabbitmq-java-client-qu...

I am now using the information I gained from this guide along side with this guide:

https://www.rabbitmq.com/tutorials/tutorial-one-spring-amqp.html

I am running into an issue though. In the RabbitMQ guide I just posted, they have a "Receive message" functionality. I use that alongside with the SendMsg from Ensemble method in the InterSystems guide. The issue I have is the message I receive looks like "[B@2c421093(byte[21])" instead of "Hello from Ensemble!"

I have a date in this format: "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS+HHMM" how can I convert it to UTC?

write $zdth("2018-02-01 00:00:00+0600",3,5)
>64680,0
write $zdt("64680,0",3,5)
>2018-02-01T00:00:00+03:00

As you see, timezone is lost. Docs for $zdth in timeopt (5) state: Specify time in the form "hh:mm:ss+/-hh:mm" (24-hour clock). The time is specified as local time. The following optional suffix may be supplied, but is ignored: a plus (+) or minus (–) suffix followed by the offset of local time from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)

Today in docs I found this example using NULL:

WRITE $LISTVALID($LB(NULL)),!

simplified

zzdump $LB(NULL)

and NULL can be case-insensitive:

zzdump $LB(null)

seems the same as just:

zzdump $LB()

But if null variable is defined then list would contain value from variable. Case sensitive in that situation.

Does anyone have any Idea what is this? Is NULL used anywhere besides as a list element?

Let's say I have a property as a variable value:

set propName="Country"

Is there a method to determine, should I quote it to access the object, so would the correct code be:

write obj."Country"

or just simple

write obj.Country

is enough?

I have an in-memory list of items and I want to check which items match my pattern string.

Pattern string is a comma-separated list of items and special symbols like '*' and maybe '?'.

There's something similar in $system.OBJ.Compile, it accepts patterns: "*.data.*,Sample.*" - and it would compile 'Sample' package and all 'data' packages.

For example:

set list=$lb("abc", "c", "aaa", "bbb")
set result = ..match(list, "a*,*b")
zw result
result=$lb("abc","aaa","bbb")

I have a persistent class.

I want to store one of the properties there as a stream or a string depending on a size.

99% of values would be strings (less than $$$MaxStringLength characters) so I don't want to store everything as streams.

What do you think of this approach?

What's the best architecture to implement in this situation?

I created the Process to extract the required data from ADT message to a Dynamic Object. I wanted to send the JSON stream to EnsLib.File.PassthroughOperation operation and generate a file with the content of JSON stream.

Here are the codes for Process:

set oMetadata = ... /// metadata is from ADT message which is dynamic object

set jsonRequest = ##class(%ZEN.Auxiliary.jsonProvider).%ObjectToJSON(oMetadata)
set tSC = ..SendRequestAsync(..JSONOperation,jsonRequest,0,,..MetadataContext) /// send the jsonRequest to operation

Here are the errors in the operation: "ERROR <Ens>ErrGeneral: No MessageBody classname for MessageHeader

There are situations where we want to provide immediate feed back to inbound Web Service that a particular business operation is not running (status <> "running"). We don't even want to queue up the message. We just want the webservice to respond with an error stating the business operation is down.

Can someone tell me if /deepsee-sysmon-dashboards is developed for a specific version of Ensemble? Looks like it could be useful to my group but we aren't upgrading till later this year and we are on 2015.2.2.

Thanks
