Modern data architectures utilize real-time data capture, transformation, movement, and loading solutions to build data lakes, analytical warehouses, and big data repositories. It enables the analysis of data from various sources without impacting the operations that use them. To achieve this, establishing a continuous, scalable, elastic, and robust data flow is essential. The most prevalent method for that is through the CDC (Change Data Capture) technique. CDC monitors for small data set production, automatically captures this data, and delivers it to one or more recipients, including analytical data repositories. The major benefit is the elimination of the D+1 delay in analysis, as data is detected at the source as soon as it is produced, and later is replicated to the destination.

This article will demonstrate the two most common data sources for CDC scenarios, both as a source and a destination. For the data source (origin), we will explore the CDC in SQL databases and CSV files. For the data destination, we will use a columnar database (a typical high-performance analytical database scenario) and a Kafka topic (a standard approach for streaming data to the cloud and/or to multiple real-time data consumers).

Overview

This article will provide a sample for the following interoperability scenario:

I know the next ones:

1. Place all different settings in environment variables. You have a different .env file for each environment, and you must add some code to Production for reading and setting these values. It's good for deploying into containers, but challenging for management when we have a large production. I mean, we have many settings that can vary depending on the environment: active flag, pool size, timeouts, and so on. Not only endpoints.

As the title says, I've noticed that files that gets saved to the disk where the database lies (.DAT file) in the stream directory, does not get purged. Is this expected and do we need to create our own schedule task to clean this folder up?

I could only find old answers that say this, however I find it a bit odd if that is the case because they are considered temporary files. Perhaps I do not handle the streams correctly in the code?

HL7 DTL formatting

I need a DTL to handle this.

Any ideas appreciated.

For all Prosthetics orders:
when ORC-1(Order Control) is "NW" (New Order), need to update OBR-18(Placer Field 1) based on PV1-2 (Patient Class) value.
assumption is that the selection logic is that all prosthetics orders with OBR-18 field is always blank.
Description :
If PV1-2 is I, insert I in OBR-18
If PV1-2 is O, insert O in OBR-18
If PV1-2 is E, insert O in OBR-18
If PV1-2 is P, insert O in OBR-18
If PV1-2 is R, insert O in OBR-18
If PV1-2 is B, insert O in OBR-18

I am looking to create a Python virtual environment (venv) so that my imported/installed python packages can be separate on different namespaces in IRIS. I am able to go and create an environment, activate it, and install packages, but I am not sure how to ensure that Embedded Python methods actually point to this virtual environment.

Is the best solution to just load the virtual environment at runtime, in each method? That seems like a bad solution. Has anyone run into this and found a good solution?

VS Code

Hi.

I want to save and compile a class in VS Code, but I get the error:

Failed to save 'Utils.cls': Unable to write file 'isfs://mip:mz/API/Utils.cls?project=MZ' (Unknown (FileSystemError): Unknown Error).

Any ideas what is wrong?

Regards,
Matjaž

Hi Community,

As you may know, this year's Spanish Technical Articles contest will be in May. I am going to make a series of articles to support you in the creation of your articles, giving tips and tricks. Perhaps they will be useful for the contest you have active in this community as well.

As you may know, one of the bonuses or extra points you can receive is to add a video tutorial to your article. You may not even know how to approach this issue, no problem! I'm here to give you some tips that you can apply not only to the creation of these videos, but to any other.

Introduction

HL7 messages often contain multiple repeating segments such as NTE, AL1, OBX, ZTX, DG1, and others. These segments sometimes require individual processing and routing to different downstream systems. This technical paper introduces a configurable template designed to automate the splitting of these repeating HL7 segments, improving message handling and integration efficiency.
