InterSystems Developer Community is a community of 25,072 amazing developers
We're a place where InterSystems IRIS programmers learn and share, stay up-to-date, grow together and have fun!

You probably have a similar experience.
The more I use Atelier the more I miss INSPECTOR that I had in Studio!

First for PROPERTIES that can inherit a variable number of Parameters beyond imagination.
take %XML.Adapter as the most obvious.
next:
Where to find all inherited methods that I eventually want to overload? Take %Persistent as example.

Or where or how can %OnBeforeAddToSaveSet() (the correct camel case) be overloaded ?

Hi all.

I have been using a command pipe to open/run UNIX scripts for months without issue. We recently installed the 2016 Caché Upgrade and now I'm getting the following error when opening the pipe:

<PROTECT> *OPEN[Q](|CPIPE|)

I assume some security or permission setting is to blame, but I'm not sure exactly what. Here's the snippet of code...

s cpipename="|CPIPE|"
s filepath="/path/script"
o cpipename:(filepath:"R"):10

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

The productions are components developed with InterSystems IRIS Interoperability module to promote integrations between systems, data sources/targets, web services, API, message channels, etc. Productions are composed by:

1) Business services to get/ingest/get data events or requests;

2) Business operations to send or persist data to repositories, systems, API, web services, etc; and

3) BPL - BPEL flows to orchestrate, mediate, compose and route data from business services to business operations.

Hi I am trying to tie all terminal logins in Cache so that rather than the user being presented with the Cache login and password the user is presented with my custom login page.

I can do this via a generic user so that once the generic user logs in they are presented with my Cache login page however is there a way to do this so that I can bypass the below login page and go straight to my login?

Node: myserver, Instance: CACHE

Username:
Password:

Thanks in advance

Jon

Here's one way to determine if a class is mapped (i.e. it is in a package whose definitions come from a database other than the default code database for the current namespace):

SAMPLES>w ##class(%Library.RoutineMgr).IsMapped("Cinema.Film.cls")
0
SAMPLES>w ##class(%Library.RoutineMgr).IsMapped("%iKnow.Objects.Source.cls")
1
SAMPLES>

If you pass a by-ref second argument to IsMapped you can also discover what database the class definition is stored in:

Driver odbc performance

Hello,

I'm using the InterSystems Iris odbc driver (DriverODBCVer=02.10) to get data from Iris table but it is slow.

Is there any options to improve performance ? Increase the packet size ?

Change to do in odbcinst.ini / odbc.ini to make it quicker ?

Thanks

I'm in a process of acquiring a corpus of documents on educational courses.

For example there is an educational course called "OOP" and it can have documents from 2008, 2009, ... 2016 etc.
And there are a lot of these courses, each one with programs from different years (hopefully)

So 1 document is 1 programm of one course for one year.

I want to calculate how much does a course changes per year.

Replace elements in $lb

Let's say I have a list structure:

set list = $lb("stri,ng", $c(0), 2)

I want to replace all $c(0) elements with empty elements, so my list would look like:

set list = $lb("stri,ng", , 2)

What's the fastest way to do that?

InterSystems FAQ rubric

You can programmatically retrieve routine dates and sizes using the RoutineList query of the %Library.Routine (or just %Routine) class.

The RoutineList query has an argument, and the routine name to be searched can be specified by prefix match or middle match. (For wildcards, specify * or ?)

In the example below, *.MAC is specified as an argument.

IRIS mirror - arbiter status

Hi,

I have a IRIS mirror set

. all running on SUSE Linux

. each on a separate server

consisting of

Primary

Backup

Arbiter

My arbiter is the ISCagent.

Question

=======

Is there a Linux command showing me the status of the ISCagent as arbiter?

The systemctl service command below shows if the service is running but not if it is acting correctly as an arbiter.

I'm looking for a command like iris list which you can run on the Primary or Backup

Hi developer folks!

Thanks to all of you who start the development with InterSystems IRIS from the basic development template!

Recently, thanks to @Dmitry.Maslennikov's contributions I've updated the Dockerfile to make the development simpler, images lighter and the building process faster. And it looks more beautiful too ;)

Here is what changed:

I'm trying to implement an OAuth2 server, but I have som issues when trying to setup JWT under OAuth 2.0->Client.

I get the error message saying "No match between server name 'localhost' and SSL certificate values 'cache'". I have set up a SSL/TLS configuration as simple as possible without any certificate files. I'm accessing my server via HTTPS with an unsigned certificate.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to resolve the issue I'm encountering.

Hi,

So I am a front end developer working with REST API with Cache database on the BE. The BE guys are currently using Cache through a Windows virtual machine and they claim it is not possible to have a development server to work with. All the work they are doing is directly on the production server and changes are immediate and I think this is a bad idea going forward and we most definitely need a development server that has access to the same code base and different version (through git) to be able to do development. We also do all the testing on this production server with test accounts, but we cannot do automated testing with this setup.

Hello Caché Guru,

I'm new to Cache system. I'm trying to do something like saving meta data in Relational DB:

I could use "management portal" -> System Explorer->SQL to view individual table's catalog details or print out the column definition. However I need to gather those information for several hundreds of tables in the DB. Is there a way to do it using command line in kind of batching mode?

Any hint and tip is very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Victor
