Namespace vs database

I'm confused about the differences between a namespace and a database.

I understand that a database is a single IRIS.DATA file in a directory in the os hosting IRIS.

What is the difference between a namespace and a database?

Can I write data into a database without specifying a namespace?
If so how do I write to a particlar DB in objectscript?

Does a database have to be in a namespace?
Can a database be in more than one namespace?

Can a namespace have only one 'routine' database and only one 'data' database?

For background, I've developed code that relies on %JSON.Adaptor functionality across an entire package of classes in our codebase. In regenerating these classes with %JSON.Adaptor as a superclass, I've encountered compilation errors from the JSON adaptor generators in certain classes, triggered by certain property types or parameters that are incompatible.

Is anyone using DICOM Interoperability in IRIS for Health configured in Mirror?

I'm asking because I'm not sure how to handle where the DICOM messages are stored.

For some reason DICOM use the filesystem to store raw messages, the directory used can be configured in the StorageLocation production settings, obviously this is a big issue if/when a mirror failover occur.

Unfortunately in IRIS it's not possible to change the DICOM storage from file stream to global stream.

Has anyone came across this issue?

I am receiving the garbled text due to incorrect encoding or decoding. I tried to use the $zconvert function to convert it into the normal text but failed to do that. Can anybody suggest what I have to use to convert that into normal text?

Example: Garbled text that I am getting is "canââ¬â¢t , theyââ¬â¢re".

Hi,

My HL7 interface in production is outputting messages to a HL7 File Operation and a EnsLib.HL7.Operation.HTTPOperation. There is no errors in the File Operation, but the HL7 HTTPOperation is giving ERROR #5911: Character Set 'iso-8859-4' not installed, unable to perform character set translation. Both the HL7 File Operation and HL7 HTTP Operation are using latin1 for Default Char Encoding.

What is ERROR #5911 about? Is something missing in the IRIS installation?

Hello, Does the NodeJs package work when running a node js file on windows (nodejs for windows)? I've added the package by running npm install <package location folder>

I have the following index.js file, but when running from node (windows) I get the following error. Does the NodeJs package build the output files when the package is added or does it just assume linux as the underlying os?

Error: Cannot find module './bin/winx64/irisnative.node'

Hi,
I want to automate a menu based program for which I don't have the source

If I run it interactively I do this:
do ^<program>

It presents a menu and then you can go down further menus

Based on the selection it may ask for answers to other questions.

Is there some way I give the program a "response" file?

If not would I be able to use I/O redirection for this task?
Inputs would come from a file.
Output should go to the terminal (so I monitor how far the process has gone)
