I need to mount a database from another system. We have copied a device from another systems and mounted the device. I want to mount the cache database on this new device to our current instance of cache. If I add the name and path of this new device to the cpf file, the instance fails to start stating the database does not exist. If I attempt to create the database via the management portal, the new device is not accessible. I am missing something but I am not sure what it is. What do I need to do to make the imported device accessible by my cache instance?

Let's say I have a persistent class Sales.
I need to create a report that shows the amount of sales for each branch.
By simply using the class Sales for the source of the cube, I can show what I want with one little exception - the branches that did not have any sales are not shown.
Is there a way around that that does not involve creating a whole new table just for this cube or using a Data connector (they have horrible documentation and I am unable to figure out how to use them properly)?

Hi,

We recently moved our cache instance from windows 2012 to windows 2016 and when i try to now import % routines i'm getting the following error "Unable to obtain a write lock on this routine because either another user has the routine open for editing or you do not have write access to the database the routine is stored in. This item will be skipped."

Ambiguous sort column error

Hello,

I have a small SQL question.

Running an example queries in our Samples Namespace:

1. select top 5 Description,Category from Cinema.Film order by Category - runs fine no issues and returns 2 columns as expected

2. select top 5 * from Cinema.Film order by Category - runs fine no issues and returns 8 columns as expected

3. select top 5 Description,Category,* from Cinema.Film order by ID - runs fine no issues, and returns 10 columns, with my first 2 repeated

4. When I try to combine the first 2 queries:

I need to ensure that the task created/scheduled, by system user, is created in the routine database and not remotely in the ECP to which it is connected. How can I guarantee the creation/scheduling of this task?

In a typical database, changing the type of a column from some kind of date/time to a string would require a degree of migration effort for existing values. In Caché, my suspicion is that this is not the case, and I could simply change a property definition from %Timestamp to %String (MAXLEN = "30") and recompile, without needing to worry about damaging the existing data stored for this property. Is this correct? Or would I find the existing data in this property being lost or corrupted?

Hello! I am currently creating a class for a small error trap. I have it working and all is good but I really want to change the order of the fields in the SQL return from Alphabetical to something else.

The current Order is ID, ActionType, ErrorCount, ErrorDetails, Model, ResultCode, ResultMessage, Stock and Yard

I would really like for the field order to be ID, Yard, Stock, Model, etc.

Importing a role

What is the process in importing a role from one server to another server?

Let's say Server A is our main server that we maintain all of our resources / roles / users. We would like to get these over to Server B, Server C, Server D, etc.

It looks like when we import, there are tables and resources left in the destination servers that are not in the source server. It looks like whatever was in the destination server that was not part of the source server was not deleted from the import.

I seem to be able to execute sqlproc using the convention defined here https://docs.intersystems.com/latest/csp/docbook/Doc.View.cls?KEY=GSQL_q... provided the package/folder is a single level. As, soon I have a nested folder structure I get an error while trying to execute this.

For instance,

select id, Utils.Users_getRole(id) roles from users.users

works fine while,

Hi everyone.

I have a use case where I'm using embedded SQL within a Business Process to interact with a SQL table. However, when it comes to deployment into our production, the table wont form part of the deployment package created from the production.

Beyond manually creating the table on the production system, is there a standard way of ensuring that a table needed for a class is created during deployment?

Hi, I am new to InterSystems database. I am developing an application to display real time skillset statistic data, including max waiting time per skillset. I have access to the database through ODBC, using InterSystems ODBC driver. But I don't know from which table or view to get real time data of maximum waiting time per skillset. I'm trying to read data from a file and it contains single precision (4 byte) float values. Does Iris/Cache' have a way to convert the binary into a Cache' variable that is accurate?

The float DATA value for "f" LargeRefMinSize is $c(0,0,0,0) which is obviously 0.

I'm new to Cache and trying to follow the Using Cache Studio PDF. In section 2.4.3(Adding a Zen form) it tells you insert the following code;

Unfortunately that code fails compilation. If you try and use the tools there is no o select option nor a select or onselect option. I was wondering if anyone has used this PDF before and knows what the correct attribute should be?

Applying Stylesheet

Hi Guys,

I'm using the below style and everything looks good, with my Dynamic Grid width 1300px, but when I refresh my grid the width goes out of whack and the grid is too wide, so how can I re-call my enforce my style to be applied again after refreshing my grid, so basically I'm looking for a line of code that I add it to my refreshing () clientMethod ?

Hello,

I need to create a dialogbox on my zenpage to confirm a Delete operation.

I tried using below code on in a my client side method but its creating a blank dialog box.

zenLaunchPopupWindow('%ZEN.Dialog.confirmationDialog.cls','confirmationDialog','resizable,width=380,height=180');

Is there a way i can create a Dialog box with text "Do you want to delete" and two buttons "Yes" and "No" and store the response in the calling client/server method.

Hello, I am trying to write a script that will output a .log file. When I get PowerShell to parse the file with Get-Content, I find that there are extra spaces in the parsing. How can I edit my Intersystems script to output a logfile encoded differently? I think its outputting in unicode by default.

Understanding process jobTpe

I have a client running cache on an AIX platform. I put together a objectscript to allow for the viewing the processes running against the database using a select from SYS.Process. One of the values I want in the view of the processes information is Jobtype but I want to convert it from the numeric value to a string value. In the Intersystems documentation there is a reference to an include file $syPidTab.inc that should include macros that make this translation. I have not been able to track down this include file.
