What is TLS?

TLS, the successor to SSL, stands for Transport Layer Security and provides security (i.e. encryption and authentication) over a TCP/IP connection. If you have ever noticed the "s" on "https" URLs, you have recognized an HTTP connection "secured" by SSL/TLS. In the past, only login/authorization pages on the web would use TLS, but in today's hostile internet environment, best practice indicates that we should secure all connections with TLS.

Why use TLS?

So, why would you implement TLS for HL7 connections?

Starting out with ObjectScript, it is really exciting, but it can also feel a little unusual if you're used to other languages. Many beginners trip over the same hurdles, so here are a few "gotchas" you'll want to watch out for. (Also few friendly tips to avoid them)

NAMING THINGS RANDOMLY

We have all been guilty of naming something Test1 or MyClass just to move on quickly. But once your project grows, these names become a nightmare. 

➡ Pick clear, consistent names from the start. Think of it as leaving breadcrumbs for your future self and your teammates.

Any time a change is made to the configuration of a running Production, an update is needed to apply any changes in configuration or default settings to the running Production. This has historically been a manual step by the user. Now, if the CCR Client Tools cause a running Production to need update, the Production is updated automatically. This means users will no longer have to navigate to the Production Configuration page and click the 'Update Production' button every time they load an ItemSet.

I’d like to know how I can update my login email address from the profile section.

When I click the "Edit" option in my profile, it redirects me to login.intersystems.com. However, even on that page, I don’t see an option to edit the login email address. [unable to edit]

Could someone please guide me on how to change my login email?

I have set up an ODBC driver for InterSystems and would like to set up a linked server. This all works except I cannot see the columns  details. If I access the database from excel I can get the columns and types of the various tables

Hi everyone,

I’ve set up a scheduled task in InterSystems IRIS to run every night at 2:00 AM, but it doesn’t seem to trigger consistently. Some nights it works as expected, but other times it just skips without any error in the logs.

The task is marked as enabled, and there are no conflicts in the Task Manager. I’ve double-checked the system time and time zone settings all looks fine.

Could it be a cache issue or something to do with system load?

60% of my topics are covered by developer sessions and the other 40% I will reach using 1:1 meetings, tech exchange and focus groups. I know, it is not possible stay at all sessions, but I will to try 30-40% of sessions.
