I'm trying to write an ObjectScript function that sorts version numbers to help learn ObjectScript. This is all I can think of after staring at VS Code for a while, but I don't know where to go with it. Can someone please help out with a tip? Hello all; I am using a one-to-many relationship. I have a Claim (one), in a relationship with Lines (many), but the Claim is storing a list of Lines IDs, rather than the Lines storing the Claim Id. This seems upside down, and not what I expected.

Let's consider these two ways of passing an obj to a function:
//var is a structured obj
(1) do ..methodX(var)
(2) do ..methodX(.var)
In c++ if we pass an obj by reference like in (2) we save a lot in computation because we are not copying the whole object, and when the object is modified within the function it is modified also for everyone.
In this case does (2) achieve any better performance than (1)? Is passing with the "." save any computation? the object is copied anyway?
Is there a simple way of passing obj to a function?

I'm experiencing a recurrent problem that I haven't found the way to solve, so I'm coming here with the hope somebody can give me a new approach.
To make it short: we are creating categories on-demand to be able to place the maximum numbers of workers in memory, avoiding the limits established by system categories. But from time to time, one of this creation fails and system is no able to start the queue. The error we are getting is:
I'm trying to access the categories configuration for the WorkMgr via COS, so I can be able to create new categories for our processes and this way try to overlock the limit of cores*2 workers. I've seen that last version of IRIS is supposed to have a menu on the portal (System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > WQM Categories), but since we are in 2020.1 this doesn't exist.
Does anyone have experience with WQM.API to manage the categories, or the usage of ^%SYS("WQM") to set it directly?

Using Ensemble Security functions has anyone created a csp or cls page that acts like a portal to allow users to Update a multidimensional table without knowing SQL? I could clone the EnsPortal.LookupSettings but that was made for LUT which are only 2 columns.

It can sometimes be useful to list or export all of the subclasses that are derived, directly or indirectly, from a given class. In Studio, the Class -> Derived Classes menu option will show such a list, but I'm not aware of a built-in API for programmatically exporting their source code.
I am trying to write a class method to return the value of a object element. Input to method is the object and element. I am not getting a value returned. What am I missing?
Currently I have a program that is going to be used to compare global nodes between namespaces. Using nested FOR statements I am stepping through global nodes and comparing between the namespaces, if the global values are different I then parse the node comparing each delimited segment.
This is working.
I want to now be able to set what global I am in as a variable to expand on this concept.
How can I get the current date and time in the destination file when I'm using Stream.CopyFrom because Stream.CopyFrom preserves the date and time of the source file.
In trying to define a Class Parameter that I can use in SQLComputeCode I can't seem to get any of the syntaxes for the using of the parameter where the SQL compute code will actually evaluate the parameter values. There is nothing specific that I can find in the docs about SQLCompute Code and Parameter usage.
Is there some specific syntax for accessing a class defined parameter in the SQL Compute Code that works?

Has anyone come across a good using Embedded Python to convert a Python List object to an IRIS %List object?
My use case is I want to open an SQL entry with an Objectscript class method, then pass some information from that row into a separate Python class method which will then create a Python List object, then have the Python class method return that list back to the Objectscript class method in such a way that the Python List can be converted to an IRIS %List object for me to then use in the Objectscript code.
