Question Bahram Aziz · Oct 24, 2016

Hi,

I have an Ensemble DTL which is suppose to translate the inbound XML document to an outbound XML document.

I need to test if a particular XML element exists, to perform some translation.

In the DTL I have the following,

<if condition='source.{element1.element2.element3}'>

<true>

    // do something

</true>

</if>

How do you use if statement to test the source XML document to see if a particular element exists in the source doucment.

Thanks,

This article explains how Atelier helps you to improve software development productivity. One of the Ensemble features is the VDoc infrastructure. When someone develops HL7 v2.* production, She/ He is in a luxurious situation because Ensemble comes with a HL7 Schema editor. On the other hand this is not the case with XML VDocs. But with some effort you can turn Atelier to a handy XSD editor and close the gap.

Please follow the step-by-step guide to complete the job.

Before you read

Please make sure that you have

n  Ensemble 2016.2 or later installed

n  Atelier matching the server version

Announcement John Murray · Oct 25, 2016

We at George James Software recently released a new version of Deltanji, the native source code management tool for Caché, Ensemble and HealthShare.

Version 6.1 includes several enhancements, including easy creation of labels. Bulk transfer of large codesets is also now available from the browser UI.

A perpetually free "install and go" Solo Edition of Deltanji is available. Licenses can be purchased for other editions that provide more advanced code management and deployment features.

Deltanji is compatible with Atelier. It can also manage external files.

This is a beginner’s guide to the design of a “MicroService” implemented in Ensemble. “MicroService” is a popular phrase these days which has a broad interpretation. My interpretation is: “MicroService” is a “NoSQL Service”. A what? The answer is in the article.

We learnt what the difference is between SQL and NoSQL databases. For me the difference is nearly the same between a SOA Web Service and a “MicroService”. I am going to explain it through an example.

Please note, that although this is a beginner’s guide, I assume deep technology knowledge on data modelling, RESTful services and Ensemble.

We are interfacing through Ensemble with an application that does not like diacritic signs in text. I have been searching for a way to strip these signs from the HL7 messages that get send to that application.
The problem in short is we have an incoming HL7 message with e.g. é (or ë, á etc), this goes into Ensemble. In the outgoing message the é should be replaced with an e.

Hello All,

   Does anyone have a specification for Telepath PMEP file formats?

They look like this

01|XXX|005|MIC|XXX Microbiology & Mycology|123456|25.08.16 15:06|
02|$$$|XX01|||L|
03|F|SURNAME|FORNAME|111222333|MRN1|01.01.1950|52 Some Lane|Somewhere|||AA11 1AB|MRN1|01.01.1950

etc etc with "05's all the way up to 10's" they are for results.  The supplier isn't being helpful, google for PMEP isn't given anything useful, hence I'm asking the friendly developers here if they've come across it and even better have any sort of file format or spec at all?

Question Scott Roth · Oct 6, 2016

maybe I am not looking in the correct spots, but how should one handle an Exception from a SOAP web service within the Business  Process Language? For example I am sending a request to a Web Service to try to get information, but the response I am getting is an Exception like "Patient Not Found".

Is there a function I can call to check the response similar to what I do to check a SQL Snapshot to see if it is valued?

Thanks

Question Mathew Burt · Oct 6, 2016

I have an operation which calls an external web service, returning a long XML string.

Passing the string into Excel creates a table like this:

Each row above relates to a document on a server. In Ensemble, I need to parse the XML similarly to Excel, where I can loop over each document and take various actions depending on the different values.

I created a BPL to call the operation and return the XML string, which I've converted it to an %XML.TextReader object, and I'm using a While loop to loop through each element.

A beginner’s guide to Exception Handling in RESTful web services. The article gives an example how the various error conditions during processing a service request can be handled.

We expect our client – server communication working in a flawless operational condition, running error free software. But we are prepared to handle exceptions. Are we? So far in the examples of the previous sessions were not. We did not care about exceptions. The result? In any error incident it took ages to figure out what the problem is and more importantly how to fix it.

I'm trying to read PID-3 and route the message based on if a certain prefix existed, but I keep getting Property Does Not Exist.

I've tried

HL7.(PID:PatientIDInternalID()) Contains "COS"

HL7.(PID:PatientIDInternalID(1)) Contains "COS"

HL7.{PID:PatientIDInternalID()} Contains "COS"

HL7.{PID:PatientIDInternalID(1)} Contains "COS"

This is a 2.3 MDM message. Thanks!

This article gives a brief introduction how a RESTful service consumer and a RESTful service provider exchange data. It is a beginner’s guide. Data is transferred from a consumer to a provider as parameters of the service. Parameters are part of a service request. The result of the service action a response is returned from a provider to a consumer. Both the service request and response are standard HTTP messages. Since HTTP is a flexible standard regarding to the message contents, RESTful services also enjoy the versatility of data transfer methods.

Question Paster-Bachar Gadi · Sep 29, 2016

Hi All

I have a question on working with dev and prod environments.

After project is ready and signed, I usually migrate outcome to production using the export tool from the studio.

For changes/adding to existing projects, I exclude the production class (as it has some different values differing the dev from the live) and I add the differences manually afterwards.

My questions on migrating are:

Does anyone has (to share) his/her best practice steps on "migrating dev to prod"?

Does the export action (in management portal) is better to use?

Thanks

Gadi

Cross-origin Resource Sharing (CORS) is one of the basic security features built into browsers. CORS controls accessing resources from a HTML page in domains other than the original domain. It is particularly important for AJAX calls. Since RESTful services can be used as data provider to any AJAX call, you have to be able to control cross-origin access. By default services are not allowed to do CORS. You are going to learn how to enable it for Ensemble RESTful services.

 Windows 7 and some other Microsoft Operating Systems can shutdown too fast for large applications, such as a Cache instance with a large amount of data and changes, to close gracefully. This results in the instance being forced down by the OS and so causing problems on the next start up.

To solve this we can change the OS shutdown timeout values to give Cache more time to close gracefully. We do this by editing some settings in the Registry.

1.Click Start (on Win 7) and type “regedit” and make sure you run registry editor as administrator.

Preface: our small, but very ambitious company called “Black Mushroom Studio” came up with an idea for an e-commerce project and a mobile app that would let users pay for certain goods/services via a payment aggregator.

What we had initially: an Android app skeleton that, of course, liked communicating via HTTP and JSON, and a payment system with an API – web services with SOAP content.

Goal: make it all work together.

Question Jenna Makin · Sep 22, 2016

Hi-

Can someone please explain the affect of the Failure Timeout on an ensemble business operation with a EnsLib.HL7.Adapter.TCPOutboundAdapter

Is this setting indicating the number of seconds that the operation will attempt to resend a message to a target before it fails?

How does this setting affect message processing of messages that fail because of a missing or failure response code that comes back in an HL7 message response?

A beginners guide to develop Ensemble RESTful web services.

Background

Before you start reading this short introduction please go through the on-line documentation of Ensemble with special attention to chapter “Creating REST services and clients with Ensemble”.

The approach in the documentation is undisputable the fastest and easiest way to create RESTful services. As a beginner I went through the documentation and I had several questions. This short article is listing those questions plus my humble answers.

When I refer to documentation I mean Ensemble 2016.2 and onwards.
