What are best ways to query large tables?

We don't often use SQL within our org, which is mostly due to the performance issue we experience due to the quantity of data we are reviewing.

Aside from the standard performance measures for non-Caché databases, are there any recommended approaches when querying large tables?

The table would have roughly 50M records, but there are not a finite amount of sub-nodes.

401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials response

How to create Https request with Negotiate,NTLM Authentication in cache using %Net.HttpRequest package.
I tried with basic authentication it is throwing >401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.

the associativity when the INNER JOIN and LEFT JOIN are mixed

select * from A left join B on A.x = B.x inner join C on B.y = C.y

does Cache SQL treat the join path: LEFT_JOIN(A,INNER_JOIN(B.C)) also a valid candidate path?

REST- Cache as the server and the client, problem with PUT method , Length required error

Hi,
Trying to work with REST protocol, using IIS 8, both client and server are Cache servers,
I have the following problem-
When I send a PUT command, I get the following error:

Cucumber / Gherkin integration

Are there any BDD testing automation implementations within Mumps/Cache Objects already in existence?

We are looking at using Cucumber for our Java regression test automation and would like to use similar feature file testing with the Cache code.

Looking to use something existing before building it.

I'm using Studio to develop. I've been using the built-in debugger and it has been working nicely. But now, since the upgrade, I'm getting this error when trying to debug any routine or class method:

Can I migrate a cache.dat file from a Windows instance to a RHEL instance of Caché?

If I have a cache.dat file from a Windows 2012 (64-bit) machine and I want to mount it on a Caché instance running on RHEL, will it work? Assume the versions of Caché are the same.

Starting caché without automatic WIJ recovery in non-interactive way

After the database is restored, the WIJ file may be incompatible, so I deleted the WIJ file, and it needs to be set manually at startup

message in cconsole.log:

Enter Cache' with 
     csession CACHE2016 -B
and Do ^STURECOV for help recovering from the errors

Export Cache Class including dependent classes

In Cache Studio there is export class dialog with options "Export current project" and "Include dependent classes".

Is there any way to export class programmatically, but with same effect as if "Include dependent classes" was checked? So that not only the class itself is exported, but also all dependent classes? I know of Export method in %SYSTEM.Obj class, but it only exports the class itself.

Customizing Management Portal Header

Good day,

Is there a way to change the theme in management portal? or at least the color of the header.

Issue is, some users have access to Development and Testing and Production environments. I would like a way to color-differentiate the environments to reduce the errors.

Does anyone know how to dynamically set a variable, for example

set Counter = 1

set x_Counter ="test" in Cache Object script. I tried with EXECUTE XECUTE ("set x"_Counter "="_DIAGS_""), but it does not work.

SQL: ability to choose a specific index

I'm using Cache SQL and want the ability to choose a specific index.

I've boiled the problem down to one table and simplified the query down to

SELECT *
FROM Registration.PatResp
WHERE SchedApptNum=8450022

SchedApptNum is indexed, but instead of using that column, "Show Plan" indicates that it's looping through the entire Registration.PatResp table on Id (the primary key for the table).

I've done a tune-table with no change.

I am trying to get the values of a PID:3 segment to an array but I will need to know the length of the segment to process .

How to register a Cache instance after restoring all the mount points?

Hi,

I am exploring a simple restore procedure for a Cache instance and would really appreciate any help.

Basically, I have a CentOS machine with a Cache instance and let us say I backed up all the mount points where Cache data is located (install dir, DAT files, journals, WIJ etc). On another identical machine (without Cache installed), I mounted all these file systems exactly using the same mount points so all the data is back with the same paths.

Server closed communication device?

I get this on some queries in some namespaces. For instance, this query:

SELECT TOP 10 SessionId, datediff(s,min(TimeCreated),max(TimeCreated)) as ResponseTime
FROM ens.messageheader
GROUP BY SessionId
ORDER BY ResponseTime DESC

It works fine in HSBUS but in HSREG it throws the error.

Server closed communication device

Does anyone know what would cause this? Would it log something more useful somewhere?

How to use stored procedures with linked tables

In MySQL I have the following table:

CREATE TABLE `info` (
   `created` int(11)
);

And it is linked (via JDBC SQL Gateway) to Cache table mysql.info. `created` field stores unix timestamp. So when I execute this SQL in SMP:

SELECT created FROM mysql.info

I receive the following output (which is expected):

syntax for open/use/read statements on a simple ms-dos text file.

Can anyone suggest suitable Cache ObjectScript syntax for open/use/read statements on a simple ms-dos text file.
I've tried various examples seen on the web but they appear to be implementation specific.
I used MSM MUMPS many years ago but am now retired & would like to write a few simple routines for my own amusement & mental challenge.
I am using the free Version of Cache (V 2017.1) on my Windows 10 PC. The installation file was CachePCkit_x64.exe
My apologies for this query being very basic.

How to add a column of random numbers in a sql result?

Hi guys,

My client has a requirement to add a column of random numbers to the query result.

I wrote a function as below:

Class Utils.SqlUtility Extends %RegisteredObject
{

ClassMethod GetSomeNumber(intInput As %Integer) As %Integer [ SqlName = GetNumber, SqlProc ]
{
Return $R(intInput)
}

}

But in the returned sql result, every row share the same value, as below,

Ever get Error #5001:Attempt to call non-ZENMethod?

I'm getting the above error. My zen page calls other javascript methods and other server methods just fine. But when I call my method, I get the error. Yes, I've tried making it look exactly like the methods that work. But for some reason, it doesn't seem to know that DoLogout is a zen method.

Anyone ever get this error?

Healthshare/Ensemble/Cache deployment tool? Anyone every created one?

I'm working on a proposal for a deployment tool development project and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with such a thing.

We use Healthshare and implementations for new clients are tedius and lengthy. Lots of ensemble service, registry value, lookup tables, namespaces and other things have to be created and configured.

I would like to create a Zen or CSP page based deployment tool that can do all this with a few parameters and some custom code.
