I feel I may be in the "people unclear on the concept" group here.

System Default Settings is a great mechanism, and we use some custom code to deploy it in our pipeline after environment specific changes have been applied to the content. However, we are trying our best to reduce the amount of custom code we use in our system that does not relate directly to the business. For CI/CD, this means we are trying to leverage IPM for the heavy lifting.

I have a business service that actively reads data from a remote Postgres database. OnProcessInput opens a XDBC (actually JDBC) connection, executes an SQL query, fetches several thousand rows, iterates the resultset, and closes the connection. Sometimes, when designing a class method and feeding it with more and more useful features, very soon the number of parameters can reach 10 and even more.

It becomes pretty difficult for users of useful methods to remember the position of the important parameter, and it is very easy to misuse the position and transfer the wrong value to the wrong parameter.
