Hi Dev Community

I thought i would share a little method I knocked together to traverse and compare 2 JSON objects for basic equivilance.   I'm currently working on some data migration, and wanted a basic sanity check to validate that the JSON output is basically equivliant between the old and new, excluding a few things like timestamps.

It's a basic little recurvsive method, that will bubble up any differences over a nested structure.   It's very low tech, as that's all I need it to do, but I thought it might be useful for others?

It can accept a source and target JSON object or array, a

Hi folks!

I'm building a very simple REST API.

But before testing it via a Web Server what I want to make sure that REST API methods work in principle.

Is it an easy way to "fake" the web-server request and get a result e.g. of the method with signature like that?

ClassMethod GetAllRecords(pRequest As %CSP.Request, pResponse As %CSP.Response) As %Status

e.g. calling it in Terminal?

The IKO will dynamically provision storage in the form of persistent volumes and pods will claim them via persistent volume claims.

But storage can come in different shapes and sizes. The blueprint to the details about the persistent volumes comes in the form of the storage class.

This raises the question: we've deployed the IrisCluster, and haven't specified a storage class yet. So what's going on?

You'll notice that with a simple

kubectl get storageclass

you'll find the storage classes that exist in your cluster. Note that storage classes are a cluster wide resource, not per namespace a

Since .Net has a unified package manager system (Nuget.org) why doesn't Intersystems create and add a nuget package (.nupkg) containing the InterSystems.Data.IRISClient.dll file.

This would make it easier for external .net developers to obtain the package for creating tools and/or applications that utilize Iris/Iris4Health

Can  Intersystems create a nuget package?

Hi Community,

I've created a method in my File Service to do a cleanup for every file load. Currently, I've set it to delete data when LastUpdated date is greater than maxdate. However, I want to do a cleanup for every new file load. Any suggestions or advice on how to do this? Thanks!

Method Cleanup()

   FROM MC_Table_Data.Patient)

   &SQL(DELETE MC_Table_Data.Patient WHERE LastUpdated<:tMaxDate)

Hello,

So i want to use the INSERT OR UPDATE command so i can update a COUNTER for a given name:

INSERT OR UPDATE myTable
SET name='Omer',  counter = counter + 1;

as you can see with the above code - if the row is non-existent then we get an error because COUNTER is NULL!
I tried the following to fix this but all have failed:

INSERT OR UPDATE myTable
SET name = 'Omer',
    counter = CASE
WHEN counter IS NULL THEN 1
        ELSE counter + 1
    END

INSERT OR UPDATE myTable SET name='Omer',counter = COALESCE(counter + 1, 1)

INSERT OR UPDATE myTable SET name='

Hello Community:

Let's go with the last article on how to record yourselves for the Article Contest video bonus.

I'm not going to go into how to do very specific things in editing because it varies depending on the program you use. The keyboard shortcuts and menus are different, but the concept is the same. You are going to use a programme to organise the recorded material, remove the excess and give it structure. Many of these softwares are free (Capcut, Canva and if I'm not mistaken DaVinci had a free version). I've been editing with Adobe Premiere for almost ten years now (wow, I'm getting old), so if you have any questions about this software, feel free to write to me.

Here are some concrete tips:

Welcome to the Q1’2025 quarterly platforms update.

If you’re new to these updates, welcome!  The big news this quarter is the upcoming Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 release.  Read on for more on that.  This update aims to share recent changes as well as our best current knowledge on upcoming changes, but predicting the future is tricky business and this shouldn’t be considered a committed roadmap.

With that said, on to the update…

It's been a while (and everyone is well-rested after Advent Of Code!) so let's run another round of Code Golf.

Your task is navigating in a grid-like labyrinth in a clockwise spiral pattern. As it traverses the matrix, it collects characters, revealing a secret message. Your challenge: find the shortest, most elegant code to decode this spiral cipher. Input:

  1. A multidimensional string array with comma separated characters (n x n)
  2. Starting coordinates X and Y

Output: The decoded message as a single string

Constraints:

  1. 1 ≤ n ≤ 100
  2. The starting position is always valid within the matrix
  3. The mat

Hello!

This article is a small overview of a tool that helps to understand classes and their structure inside the InterSystems products: from IRIS to Caché, Ensemble, HealthShare.

In short, it visualizes a class or an entire package, shows the relations between classes and provides all the possible information to developers and team leads without making them go to Studio and examine the code there.

If you are learning InterSystems products, reviewing projects a lot or just interested in something new in InterSystems Technology solutions — you are more than welcome to read the overview of ObjectScript Class Explorer!

Hi Community,

This is a detailed, candid walkthrough of the IRIS AI Studio platform. I speak out loud on my thoughts while trying different examples, some of which fail to deliver expected results -  which I believe is a need for such a platform to explore different models, configurations and limitations. This will be helpful if you're interested in how to build 'Chat with PDF' or data recommendation systems using IRIS DB and LLM models.

I have a flask application, its working locally. I also have a iris for health 2024.3 docker container front-ended with the iris nginx container.

I can configure the WSGI application with iris for health, give it a "url" (/flask or /csp/flask) but I cannot access the flask application. It looks like the url is not found within the nginx configuration. Is there any documentation or suggestion for configuration/enabling a flask app with a IRIS container front ended with the nginx container (provided by intersystems container registry)

February 19, 2025 – Alert: SQL Queries Returning Wrong Results

InterSystems has corrected two issues that can cause a small number of SQL queries to return incorrect results. In addition, InterSystems has corrected an inconsistency in date/time datatype handling that may lead to different, unexpected – yet correct – results for existing applications that rely on the earlier, inconsistent behavior.

DP-436825: SQL Queries with Lateral Join May Return Wrong Results

The first issue (DP-436825) only affects SQL queries that use a lateral join, either implicitly or explicitly, on an instance conf

Hello all,

We are currently developing a set of cubes in Unified Care Report (UCR) for data analysis purposes. However, we are encountering issues with cube dependencies, where certain cubes rely on others to be compiled beforehand. The complexity of these dependencies is becoming increasingly difficult to manage, particularly when attempting to deploy the cubes.

The problem arises when trying to compile a cube that depends on another cube, which may also have its own dependencies. For instance, when compiling the Test.Cube.EncounterHealthPlans cube, we receive the following error:

Hello!
So my question is quite simple, Do the different data models of Intersystems all support the ACID properties?
I assume that for the SQL data model implementation it does, But does it also work for global (i.e the hierarchical  data model)?
I searched the docs and the different articles, It seems for example that here its implied that the different data models of
Intersystems  DO indeed support the ACID properties and allow for safe insertion, deletion etc... in concurrent operations to the server that is.

Would love to get a clarification, Thx!

REST API with Swagger in InterSystems IRIS

Hello

The HTTP protocol allows you to obtain resources, such as HTML documents. It is the basis of any data exchange on the Web and a client-server protocol, meaning that requests are initiated by the recipient, usually a Web browser.

REST APIs take advantage of this protocol to exchange messages between client and server. This makes REST APIs fast, lightweight, and flexible. REST APIs use the HTTP verbs GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, and others to indicate the actions they want to perform.

For example we have a docker app that receives a .csv file from windows environment and then do some processing on it in docker linux environment.

Windows encode new line in CRLF format, but linux can understand only LF and throw an unexpected errors like

ERROR #7207: Datatype value '100 ' is not a valid number > ERROR #5802: Datatype validation failed on property 'esh.i14y.csv.CelciusCSV.Record:Temperature', with value equal to "100 "

Is there a way to convert new line logic inside iris container in cases when .csv file (and other possible files) comes from windows environment ?
