Our development server is set up to automatically keep the .INT code of compiled classes and routines, but the live servers are set to not keep the .INT code.
I know how to set the system to keep this code ($SYSTEM.OBJ.SetQualifiers() ?) but what are the ramifications of keeping this code on the live servers? Is it just a space issue? I always thought it was to keep the code more private.
At the Global Summit several folks had mention that they developed their own production monitor. I am looking to create a monitor similar to eGate that we only display those Services/Processes/Operations that are in trouble, and those Errors that are showing up in the Event Log. Does anyone have any examples of this?
I need to create strong random password including letters and integers. Does Cache Object Script has methods to generate password or I have to create my own method ?
Our organization is looking to expand our Coding Standards to be more in alignment with best practices.
I was wondering if the there are developers here that would not mind sharing any existing documents. Our scope would be this document be applicable to new hires learning Cache all the way up the chain.
It seems that everyone who is moving from Caché to IRIS have noticed this small change among other, more noticeable ones. But have you noticed that temporary globals mapping rules have been changed as well?

I'm looking at an issue where I need to grab an ID number from an external SQL table when it doesn't exist in a HL7 message, and then add it to the HL7 message.
I have built the logic within a BPL which checks for the lack of ID, and then pulls the ID from the SQL table (and storing its value using the context functionality within the BPL) however I am at a loss as to how I then take the ID and add it to the HL7 message before passing it to a router.
Today's challenge is about decompressing input that is compressed in an experimental format. In the format, markers indicate how much time a number of characters need to be repeated.
I'm currently implementing an interface solution to send through data to community pharmacies here in the UK from our hospital PAS system. As part of this project i have created a BPL which calls a SQL operation to infiltrate our Data warehouse and add to the message - this is all done and working as i expect.
I was wondering whether anyone can help I would like to know what is the underlying method that is used for exporting lookup tables from within studio. I would like to do this programmatically. The export function provided with Ens.Util.LookupTable is not compatible with studio.
I am new to IRIS and cloud platforms. I've done the InterSystems IRIS Experience on the learning site and read a lot of the online documentation. What I am unable to figure out is which type of package or option you will use on the cloud provider.
AWS for example, has AWS EC2, Elastic Beanstalk and some other products geared towards Docker containers. Azure has Kubernetes and some other options.
I'm trying to send emails to a distribution list but it doesnt work. However, When I send emails to individual emails it works fine. Is there a configuration that I need to be checking or enable?
Sometimes we need to know for sure if the current environment has sufficient cores, memory, and bandwidth to support the planned number of users and such SLAs as latency, response time, and availability. This is true for databases and backends. This is why it is mandatory for critical applications and databases to simulate the users simultaneous/concurrent requests and collect metrics about performance and availability.
The database is increasing a lot (almost a 1TB) and getting bigger with no sense after migration, the use of the plataform did not increase after the migration so is strange for us this increase.
how can I check everything is ok in the database? for example any table getting bigger.
We are currently in process of implementing REST APIs using IRIS and we are also looking at using Intersystems API Manager.
Our aim is to implement a Microservices Architechture where Services are small in size, bounded by contexts, autonomously developed, and independently deployable.
We are following a spec first approach where we are first defining the API specs into Swagger Hub and using IRIS API Management Service to build the REST classes i.e. the Specification class, Dispatch class and Implementation Class.
We have a bunch of CSV files of a few different types, which contain patient and medication data, among other things, which we need to load into Healthshare, so the information can be compiled together and then viewed from the Clinical Viewer/reports made on the data as well.
In this session, we will discussing SOLID Principle of Programming and will implement in a example. I have used Cache Object Programming Language for examples. We will go step by step to understand the requirement, then what common mistakes we use to do while designing, understanding each principles and then complete design with its implementation via Cache Objects.
I'm pleased to announce that Robert Cemper is a new Developer Community Moderator for 2018 year!
Robert joined DC in June 2017 and is responsible for a significant amount of experience, best practices and deep skills in InterSystems technology presented here in InterSystems Developer Community!
Congratulations, Robert! And thanks for your Yes to work as Moderator in InterSystems Community!
Here's one way to determine if a class is mapped (i.e. it is in a package whose definitions come from a database other than the default code database for the current namespace):
I need support for my case!! I have 18 GB health care cache Database i face delay with filter and transmit data around 20 - 45 Minutes, I need solution to fixed my issue.
