I have a business process that adds data to a global variable on receipt of an HL7 message, and a scheduled task that executes a class method defined within the same business process that removes data from the same global variable. With this in mind it makes sense to consider concurrency and therefore make use of the LOCK command.

My first question is whether this is actually necessary?

I inherited some legacy MUMPS / ObjectScript code. A code review identified an exclusive NEW and that is not allowed per our coding standards.

The original code contains:

RUN(CALL,DRVNAME)
S $EC=""
S ^TMP($J,"RMPV","DRVNAME")=DRVNAME
N TMPFILE,OLDIO
S OLDIO=$IO
I $G(^TMP("RMPV","SILENT"),1) S IOP="NULL",%ZIS=0 D ^%ZIS I '$G(POP,1) U IO
D INIT^@DRVNAME
D ; scope variables
.N (DUZ,CALL) ; Protect %response
.S IOF="""""",IOM=80,U="^"
.D @CALL

I was using VSCode to edit a DTL because it seemed easier to copy/paste code from parts of the DTL I was editing. I tried to add <sql> tag and code to call a SELECT statement, but when I compiled I got the following error...

ERROR <Ens>ErrInvalidDTL: Invalid DTL

> ERROR #5490: Error running generator for method 'GetSourceDocType:osuwmc.Epic.MFN.DTL.EpicMFN949002Normalization'

I am trying to replicate a REST call that I am able to make via a Postman call within a EnsLib.REST.GenericOperation.

It's been a while since I have messed around with trying to make external REST calls. When I execute my REST call, tSC is coming back with an error and I am trying to pinpoint why. I tried turning on ISCLOG = 5 but when calling the REST Operation from the Testing tool it is not logging anything to the ISC log.

Hi noble devs!

Just building a simple frontend->JSON->IRIS backend story, and figured that IRIS while importing via %JSON.Adaptor wants JSON fields to match property names, meaning even should match the case. Like:

{ name: "John",

surname: "Doe"}

will have issues while saving the dynamic object to a class Sample.Person with:

Hi, community!

Consider you need to exclude substring(s) from a string.

I did it with the following snippet:

/// excludes all the substrings from the string
ClassMethod ExcludeSubstring(substr,str as %String) As %String

{

 while ($L(str,substr)>1) {

 set str=$Piece(str,substr)_$Piece(str,substr,2,*)

            }

 quit str

}

So, for example:

0 456

Let's say I have two classes: A and B. They share no common parent except %SystemBase. But these classes have some properties with the same name (type may be the same or not):

Class A {

Property data As C;

Property data2;

}
Class B {

Property data As D;

Property data3;

}

I need to automatically convert object of class A into object of class B. I'm planing to write a class generator that generates a separate class that converts A to B. It would work like this:

Use a class property to pass a flag

Looking for a way in which I could possibly pass a flag through a property when performing an Insert statement, on a mapped class.

insert into my.class (serialNumber, modelNumber, myFlag) value ('testSerial', 'testModel', 0)
myFlag is not stored in the DB.

The mapped class then calls a legacy routine (MAC) via CodeMode = 'objectgenerator', (Insert method within the 'objectgenerator')

Within the legacy routine, I am setting an index... but I don't always want to set it (multiple inserts, and I will only set the index on the LAST insert)

Hi community,

I have some constants hardcoded in my class as parameter values, and those constants are referenced in many places in my module. Now the need has arisen to provide different value for those parameters depending on some context. Is it possible to create some sort of accessor method for the parameter (like it is possible for properties), or do I need to perform a thorough refactoring?

Thanks.

Jiri

Hi, folks!

I'm sending emails with %Net.MailMessage.

How can I add a new line for the email body?

The code is:

dim msg as %Net.MailMessage = ##class(%Net.MailMessage).%New()
set msg.Charset="UTF-8"
do msg.TextData.Write("Dear  "_Username)
do msg.TextData.Write("Line1")
do msg.TextData.Write("Line2")
And I'm getting in email:
Dear UserLine1Line2

How can I get:

Dear User

Line1

Line2
0 8
1 1.8K
Set httprequest=##class(%Net.HttpRequest).%New()
	Set httprequest.Server="www.intersystems.com"
	Do httprequest.Get("/")
	Do httprequest.HttpResponse.OutputToDevice()
	Do httprequest.Get("/cache/")
	Do httprequest.HttpResponse.OutputToDevice()

The above is the code which i found in this link http://docs.intersystems.com/latest/csp/documatic/%25CSP.Documatic.cls?P...

Hello,

I'm looking to find if there is a datatype convert equivalent in Object Script to SQL convert function. Have a VarBinary string coming in from source application (which is really performing a SQL dump). The source application uses the standard SQL convert function to convert from varchar to varbinary on their side.

I know &sql(Convert()) should work in Object Script, but am wondering if there is a better way of doing this.

Getting data in via flat file (Record Map), then using data transform to transpose this data to SDA3.

Hi guys!

As you know there are two (at least) ways to get the stored value of the property of InterSystems IRIS class if you know the ID of an instance (or a record).

1. Get it by as a property of an instance with "Object access":

ClassMethod GetPropertyForID(stId As %Integer) As %String

{

set obj=..%OpenId(stId)

return obj.StringData

}

2. Get it as a value of a column of the record with "SQL access":
