Question JESUS (COGNOSANTE) BRAVO · Jun 24, 2025

I installed and configure CodeTidy in my local development environment, without InterSystems source-control (git-source-control) and only git for source control.

I would like to use only CodeTidy to stablish an automated  Linting and Code Style Validation for InterSystems ObjectScript code triggered by GitHub Actions.

Could you shed some light on how to accomplish that?

There are a select few in the group that have been using Github as a Local Client push to a Repository setup in GitHub. Questions were brought up today about the security, and possible issues when it comes to data being pushed in this method.

Looking over code we have noticed that there is Histogram data within some of the class files that could be considered a security issue. Does anyone else have concerns with the Histogram data being within the class files pushed up to github?

I was watching this video about IRIS and GitHub and all is clear to me how it works and how code from each branch is getting deployed to each IRIS environment but the process to deploy is manual. My question is how can I, if possible, to utilize gti-source-control from GitLab CICD pipeline to deploy code automaticaly after PR approval instead going to the Git UI?

Thanks

We have installed IRIS on a separate server that we access remotely and copied all code and data to it so we can test IRIS before we do the move. We develop directly on the server. We Use VsCode to code but sometimes we might need to go to cache studio for some tasks.

We were interested in git for Shared Development Environments, we have installed it on a server with IRIS 2021 and configured it by following the instructions and videos of InterSystems summits we found online. We initialised a local repository on the server, added some files to start testing branches.

I am trying to create my first call to our Epic FHIR Repository from Health Connect using Samples-FHIRStarter now that I have OAuth2.0 connection tested/working with our Epic Interconnect URL.

When I take a patient example from our Epic environment and test it through Data.BPL.PatientRecordCollector within the Namespace, I keep getting a 404 - File or directory not found

as it tells me it cannot find the patient. So, I know the connection is being established, I just can't see what is being sent to Epic to see if I could test it through Postman.

I am trying to use git-source-control with IRIS.

Things are moving along well. I have installed git, ipm/ zpm, git-source-control. I have done the initial configuration and initialized the repository. I am hoping there is some documentation available to describe how to use this within Studio. I see a new option on my toolbar labeled "Git". It gives me options Status, Settings, Launch Git UI, Push to remote branch, Fetch from remote, Pull changes from remote branch, Create a new branch, Check out an existing branch, Export All, Export All (Force), Import All, and Import All (Force).

I am new to Intersystems, in our project we are directly connecting to the server (environment) using  Intersystems VSCode extensions and publishing our changes from local machine. This is not the way we usually do as development process.

Is it possible to implement continuous integration ? So that developers can check-in their code in GIT Hub and can integrate Jenkins and automate the deployment?

Could you please help me on this ?

I am currently evaluating Source Control systems that we can use for both MS SQL, MS Visual Studio, and InterSystems IRIS. For both MS SQL and MS Visual Studio we do have the option of either Azure or GitHub.  I understand when we upgrade to IRIS 2019.1 we have options for Source Control, and in previous Global Summit's I have heard GitHub discussed.  So why can't I user GitHub for both MS SQL/MS Visual Studio and IRIS?

Hi,

The app of the week is the 'ObjectScript Visual Editor'.

It looks interesting but the GitHub ownload link[1] given on the InterSystems ObjectScript Visual Editor Open Exchange page[2] fails.

[1] https://github.com/intersystems-ru/objectscript-visual-editor/releases

[2] https://openexchange.intersystems.com/package/ObjectScript-Visual-Editor

Does anyone know the github url for download?

Hi Everyone!

I have a question about how teams are using Atelier, in my experience, using a single-server/multi-developer environment is becoming problematic for us, especially when using GitHub to source control our code, let me explain...

If one developer is working on some code and is syncronising with the server and then another makes changes on that files, a merge process occurs for both developers as they both receive each others

Has anyone tried adding syntax highlighting to GitHub for Caché CLS files?

Looking at the list of supported languages and extensions...

https://github.com/github/linguist/blob/master/lib/linguist/languages.yml

It looks like Mumps is supported, and there is also an existing language with a .cls extension, which would account for why I see some very odd highlighting going on with some of my code.

There is a page on contributing a new language here...

https://github.com/github/linguist/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md

Looks like its possible to use extensions more than once for different

Question Ian Minshall · Sep 15, 2017

Is anyone using Atelier with 3 environments (instances with multiple namespaces) (DEV, TEST, PROD) using GitHub as the source control.

I would be interested in how its all setup. So for example;

Would you have three branches for the code or 3 repo's.

Would you have three projects in Atelier to communicate with the environments and GitHub?

I have 3 existing environments that I wish to put under source control and also provide the ability to promote code between the environments in a controlled manner.

Question Amir Samary · Aug 12, 2016

Hi!

I am about to configure a server with continuous integration for a client. I found that our Russian friends have again come up to the rescue and developed not one, but two continuous integration tools for Git and Caché:

My question is simple: What are the most important differences between the two and which one is going forward so I can choose the right one?

Kind regards,

Amir Samary
