InterSystems IRIS Analytics (DeepSee) is a Business Intelligence (BI) technology that enables the real-time analysis of transactional data, and is designed to be optimal for embedding within transactional applications.
Once you have successfully executed an MDX query using the DeepSee API, you have access to axes information through several methods. You can determine the number of axes and how many tupbles on each axes as well as axis metadata.
DeepSee Analyzer creates pivots to analyze your cubes and subject areas. Analyzer generates MDX queries and can drill down into levels of a hierarchy. Filters and formating can be applied. Pivots can appear as either tables or charts.
Pivot tables created in DeepSee Analyzer can be used in user dashboards. Pivot tables analyze the data based on the dimensions and measures defined in the cube or subject area. Column and row totals can be added to a pivot table in a variety of ways.
DeepSee MDX supports several statements to generate a pivot or listing. SELECT is the most used statement. DRILLFACTS and DRILLTHROUGH return detail row information from the fact table and source table respectively.
Best-in-Class companies leverage strategies for embedded BI in order to exploit the widespread nature of their existing toolsets, equip more business users with analytical firepower, and ultimately drive substantial business performance improvements.
DeepSee dashboards are the way end users interact with analytics. While pivot tables are the most common, analytics can also be in the form of scorecards and meters. Dashboards can be accessed directly from your application via a url.
Multi Dimensional Expressions are the query language to generate a DeepSee result set. These videos illustrate how to use MDX to define dimension, measure and slicer expressions. Use of various functions, statements and the MDX shell are discussed.
